Oh god, you're a bastard for reminding me about this. I saw bizkit open for Korn in 96 or 97. Fred Durst said the word Faggot a lot. They were handing out promo tapes to hype the release of 3 dollar Bill, Yall.
I actually bought, andthouroughly enjoyed, that album.

Oh yeah, I have a mate who was at the gig where Oasis got signed by Alan McGee...
But, in true hipster fashion, he wasn't watching the band, he was getting lashed in the bar. He does this a lot - I bump into him at gigs, and he's stood as far away from the band as humanely possible, with his arms crossed, ranting about how shit they are.
I like him and all, but quite frankly, he can be an embarassment.

Rob the drummer has a new band called Colossal with one of the on and off trumpet players from slapstik and neil from the lawrence arms. They are amazing. They are heading out on tour with Alkaline Trio (they are far better than the trio)
Anywho, desaparedicos on their first tour before their album came out, this is also before bright eyes got way huge too.
Umm, you don't know who they are now... but will see their faces everywhere in about a month. The Forecast played in my backyard 2 years before they signed to Victory Records.

I'm still waiting for someone to say they've seen Commander Venus or Park Ave though..

I saw the Decemberists last night. Not that cred-tastic, but an amazing show.
Okkeril River opened. If they gets big, I'll have something to brag about.
