Number 332: One-Upmanship
MilkmanDan:
65daysofstatic, back when they were rocking the stop.stumble.repeat EP, in a pub. Oh, you're not jealous yet, but just wait. They'll be huge I tell thee. And then I'll be laughing.
Atmosphere promoting the Lucy Ford EPs. I mena, they're on Epitaph now. And they have a music video. On their way, blatantly.
As for actually popular bands, no. I'm far too indie for that.
Tinjessla:
I don't know about the whole indie cred thing, but seeing British Sea Power when they supported The Flaming Lips in 2003 miiiight count for something. And when BSP got known a little better in the later part of 2003, i saw The Killers as their support.
muffy:
Hehe...I dj-ed at the Killers Brighton show last year, just as they were starting to make it big. Brandon Flowers even danced to Bright Eyes, which made me happy. No-one else did, mind.
Empty Friend:
Fine, be that way. I will participate in phallic comparison since I was totally forced to[/i]. (/sarcasm)
Saw/Talked To/Briefly Hung Out With Phantom Planet when they were unsigned and living in Cali with my friend Aaron Ruffcorn. (Who consequently lives in Ohio now, wtf?)
saw Beta Band open for Radiohead, and then Radiohead played "True Love Waits" for the second time evar.
My phallic size should at least be average for that. ;)
LightThievesAll:
I go to a lot of Deathamphetamine shows. That doesn't mean anything to you yet, but I bet when Metal Blade gets a wind of them, you'll be impressed. They even invited me to live at their house. Once I also met Ryan Terror of Tommy and the Terrors at a Murphy's Law show. None of you give a shit about this, I am certain.
