I claim local because the bass player is my mate, and he's on my Physics course and in the same halls as me at uni.

Red Method are playing on Wednesday Night and im going to see them Live in a pub called "The Sportsman Inn"
They are a great emo band :D (if you dont like emo...thats ok :D )
mooface:
Caprice* - Pop-Punk very fun to listen to. I've known two of the guys since kindergarten, and one of them since middle school. All are very cool kids.
Kodiak Arrest - Pop-Punk as well, I know a couple guys in there who are really cool.
Skapegoat - Hardcore, our best local band. Really talented.
The Adventures of Miles Hatchett and the Phunk Phiends - Category? No idea they are just INSANE. Two of my friends are in there and they are some wacky kids.
Altermind - Same two of my friends are in this band from Miles Hatchett. This band is pretty crazy too, although more subdued.
Druid:
The Kickin' Wookies - I'm not sure how to describe them. http://www.kickinwookies.com
The Revolt - Old School punkers http://www.revoltpunks.com
