MF Doom question

Since I am a retard, I do not know what (if anything) the MF stands for in MF Doom. Please eliminate my ignorance on this topic so I can look smart in front of my underground hip-hop friends.

Of which I have none. So I am just asking for myself I guess.

MF Doom is whacked out int he head, for reals. I'm particulalry fond of  his stuff with Madlib as the Madvillians.

But yes, He doesnt hold a candle to Dr. Octogon.

Pff... First off by Dr. Octagon do ya'll mean Kool Keith, or Dr. Octagon the character (not that it's much different).  But honestly, you want crazy, freakin' check out Lord Quas, Madlib does some crazy stuff there.

he takes the mask off, i'm pretty sure. just never when performing / in character. i.e. if he's mf doom, the mask is on.

I was refering to Kool Kieths Dr. Octagon persona. While I havent been too fond of most of Keith's stuff, his Dr. Octogon record with The Automater is *still* light years beyond a lot of modern hip hop.

Aside from Metal Face, MF has also meant Metal Fingers.  He's also Viktor Vaughn and King Geedorah.

As far as rap schizos go, I think Kool Keith/Dr. Octagon/Mr. Gerbick/Dr. Dooom/Black Elvis/Keith Turbo/Robbie Analog/Keith Korg/Spankmaster/etc., etc. takes the cake.

Both have done weird interactions with their different personas: Dr. Dooom killed off Dr. Octagon, while Viktor Vaughn's girl was cheating on him with Metal Face.
