For those of you that home record...

silverfish:
Cakewalk Home Studio 2004.

I really really want to get a FirePod, though (or something similar).  And some better mics, while I'm at it.

Cool Edit Pro here...it's a decent program, so long as your equipment is decent.  That said, my equipment is pretty much crap and we still manage to record some decent stuff.  Basically, if you learn to work with the various effects and learn some tricks (like using light reverb on vocals really makes a difference between something sounding amateur and professional, even if you're using a Radioshack mic for pickup), you can record something that sounds at least remotely decent.

Johnny C:
CEP. My equipment is all crap and I don't even have a vocal mic, I just stretch out fabric directly in front of the comp mic and sing into it.

You can probably pick up a cheap vocal mic at either Radioshack or a local thrift store.  It won't be top quality or anything, but  it will be better than what you're currently using and won't cost more than $10-$15.

Keith Decent:
I got a Korg D12
some crappy cheap vox mics
Plenty of wires/cord/plugs
$5 headphones
Sound Studio (yeah the almost free one)

and plenty of people who ask me how I get that genuine 'garage rock' sound...

because I actually record in a garage numbnuts!
