Is the freaking most stylish and weirdest game EVER.

It's like...if Tarantino made video games, this would be the video game he'd make.

My brain is telling me to play this game, but the reviews say don't.  I'm torn (and I hate renting).

It's less a game and more an interactive movie.

It's insanely cool and stylish, but you're mostly just running in a line, shooting a few things, then talking to freaky ghosts and watching cutscenes.

I was planning on buying it until I heard about the "rail" thing... and that kind of scared me off.  Are you led around to shoot targets or is it more like Starfox where it is a rail shooter, but your movement is free to an extent?  I am just having trouble imagining how the game could be entertaining or fun.  The visual style looks pretty sweet though... I will probably buy it once the price drops.

You have less freedom movement wise than Starfox but you quickly get used to the way it works. Its pretty backwards but the game is more focused on the story/presentation than it is on being an awesome game. That being said, it still manages to be a pretty awesome game so far. You really do have to get over the controls but when you do, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Quoted for emphasis on what I have to say.  So even though on the surface it's a weird and intersting arty game but deep down in side it's still true to a Capcom game? (Frustrating controls)

I got it today after trying an inner struggle in my mind on whether I should or not (and then I developed 7 personalities!!! *lame-ass joke*)

anyways, I finally succumbed and bought the gamecube version after we closed today. I regret nothing. I'm really liking this game. The story makes me want to continue to play in a sort of RPG-like way. Also, one thing I find cool is that this game basically OOZES with style. I've always been a fan of cel shaded graphics, but I don't think I've ever played one like this before. It sorta feels like a mix between Fooly Cooly and a Target commercial. The character's appearances, controls and special abilities are all individual and it's almost impossible to not find a favorite in Harman's personalities (Con is my favorite when it comes to looks. Kaede's my fave to control). The gameplay manages to take rail shooting and make it really interesting, almost on the level of Myst when it comes to exploration (bring object A to point A to reveal Object B etc.) and putting the enemies for shooting all over the place in between.

One can upgrade individual persona stats in firing speed, power, accuracy and healt like you would in RE4 and they can even learn new moves (counters, easy kills for crawlign enemies, double tap shooting etc.)

All in all, I see potential for a cult following here. Like most other people here, I don't expect mainsteamers or even some of the more indepth gamers to appreciate or understand the good qualities of a game like Killer7, but it's still more than a worthy buy in my book.

In the name of Harman  :P

I don't understand why people complain about the game's control.

Seems pretty basic and easy to me. Hold down A. If you hear a noise, hold down R and press L to find it, then shoot with A. Go back to holding down A.

I am enjoying this game quite a bit. It's more story and character driven. The dialogue is also really well-written. Also, the gameplay is fun.  It's just...different. It's like if Starfox, RE4, and Pulp Fiction had a sexy sexy orgy, and a sexy sexy sexy sexy baby was produced. This is that baby.

I heard the presentation is the seller, but the actual game is repetitive and boring.

Like Ico, except without the good game, i guess...
