Buddy Holly glasses.

(1/7) > >>

Oerdin:
I find it interesting that EMO kids call those thick rimmed glasses "Buddy Holly" glasses.  I know Buddy Holly made the look famous in the 1950's, but, in the Army those glasses were issued to people who needed vision correction and we called them "Birth Control Glasses" because they looked so dorky you weren't going to get laid.  BC sounds like a more apt discription then Buddy Hollies.

trolley:
Yeah, and hats. Back in my day we called 'em moppets. Cos thats what the boys down in the coal mines used to wear to keep their fivpence and half in the back pouch. Don't you kids know anything?

onewheelwizzard:
I've heard both "Buddy Holly" and "birth control" used to describe them.  I prefer "birth control" myself, but I have 20/20 vision.  I think at this point it's safe to say that calling them "emo glasses" will work.

Garcin:
I've actually heard that they were called RPGs (Rape Prevention Goggles).  Same idea, somewhat ruder (for bonus points!)

5 pence and a half?  Jesus the Britsh haven't used that system since the 1960's.
