Buddy Holly glasses.
Oerdin:
--- Quote from: trolley ---Yeah, and hats. Back in my day we called 'em moppets. Cos thats what the boys down in the coal mines used to wear to keep their fivpence and half in the back pouch. Don't you kids know anything?
--- End quote ---
5 pence and a half? Jesus the Britsh haven't used that system since the 1960's.
Oerdin:
--- Quote from: onewheelwizzard ---I've heard both "Buddy Holly" and "birth control" used to describe them. I prefer "birth control" myself, but I have 20/20 vision. I think at this point it's safe to say that calling them "emo glasses" will work.
--- End quote ---
EMO glasses sound like the best name yet. I have 20/20 as well so this is an academic exercise.
Se7en:
Why arent those old NHS prescription glasses popular too? they are even MORE dorky.
My Aim Is True:
I've actually been thinking about getting some "emo glasses." I 've liked the look fo ra logn time, before they were a huge hipster trend, but now they seem to be getting a little less popular. I'd prefer some that are a little more rectangluar, but a friend of mine has a spare pair of army issue square ones. I just need to see if they are comfortable, and if I like the look enough to buy lenses for them. My eyesight is fucking horrible.
incidnetally, a good pair of emo glasses is pretty expensive. You can get cheaper ones, but they won't fit right.
KharBevNor:
That's because designer frame-makers have cornered the market. I prefer nice thin-framed metal glasses with eye-shaped lenses. I've shyed away from anything without corners since getting called 'Harry Potter' for nigh-on a year.
