but wait, i thought you would never label a band 'bad.' but there are definately bad bands? what do you call them? less-pleasing to the ear than most? are we PCing music critique now? gimme a break

Maui:
Seriously, this is why the music forum is so stupid. Look at the effing thread title people. How the hell did we get from Nickelback being the 2nd worst band in the world to Coldplay sucking. Gah, im not a mod, but why do all these threads end up being about a completely different band and why one person is right and everyone else is wrong??? GAH.

That is all.

Comments:

 - Kudos to est for being the first person in this thread to actually be un-ignorant enough to spell Nickelback correctly.

 - I liked Nickelback's album "Silver Side Up," and still listen to it often. I haven't much cared for what they've come out with since then; it seems that once they realized they were popular, they went downhill in my tastes.

 - That doesn't make you sound good. At all.

 - Coldplay is my #1 favorite group.

 - I don't listen to it much anymore, but when I put in Creed, I like what I hear. I haven't bothered with anything new since "Weathered" was released.

 - Coldplay's lyrics aren't meaningless. Just because you don't understand the lyrics in "Clocks" or "Speed of Sound" (I'll admit I'm in the dark about those 2), which are their higher-up singles, it doesn't mean that all of their songs are metaphorical gibberish. Listen to any of their albums and you'll see what I mean.

--- Quote from: sp2 ---Coldplay doesn't show talent.

 - Chris Martin has a huge range, and hits every note with perfection. Coldplay's music has a specific style that people associate with Coldplay; this is proven in my own experience, when I wrote a song and people thought that I had taken it from Coldplay. You don't like Coldplay, and this is fine. But saying that they have no talent is like saying that dogs are disgusting, mutant freaks of nature because you don't like them.

 - Maui: not being a mod doesn't stop some people from acting like them. ;-)

Okay, I'm done.

Merkava:

--- Quote from: KharBevNor ---I mean, keep in mind he used the phrase 'hardcore-punk' here, which is pretty redundant. He might have been differentiating from hardcore dance...but I doubt it. and Fugazi are post-hardcore anyway.
--- End quote ---

That's true. I have trouble with Fugazi being during hardcore or after it sometimes. :P

Jebus, dude. Why don't you just get it over with and call them the Fugazi genre? ;) Anymore genre-narrowing and that's what we'll be at, I think.
