I'm not sure if I have ever mentioned this...

ManlyMan:
I don't usually listen to much in that area of music, but Johnny Cash is amazing. I'm not familiar with all of his music though, just what my parents own :)

He is great though. Even if you don't enjoy his music you should at least see how talented he is. He has a great voice, and he writes amazing songs.

I actually haven't heard those covers.

La Creme:
I don't listen to a lot of cash, but I know I should. I love his image, and all the lyrics (and most of the music) of the songs I've heard.

Also, I always like to think of my guitar as something he'd play...

sp2:
Cash was the original punk.  That makes him awesome.

Kai:
Johnny Cash totally kicks ass. Anyone who says he sucks, I will beat you to death and swipe your shoes and give them to a hobo.

SeanBateman:
Well I’ll tell you on thing that I know
You don’t face your demons down
You got to grab em jack
And pin em to the ground

The Devil may care, and maybe God he won’t
Better make sure you check on the Do’s and the Don’ts

Crawl up the Mountain
To reach where the Eagles fly
Sure you can glimpse from the mountaintop
Where the soul of the muse might rise.

And if you put it all together
You wont have to look around
You know you cast
A Long Shadow On the Ground

Then one day I could tell my tracks
By the holes in the soles of my shoes
And that the day I said
I’m gonna make the news

And falling in the garden
Of days so long ago
Somewhere in the memory
The sun shines on you boy

Playing in the Arroyos
Where the American rivers flow
>From the Appalachians
Down to the Delta Roads

A man can’t think so long
His brain could well explode
There’s trains running thru the junctions
A King comes down the road

And if you put it all together
You won’t have to look around
You know you cast
A Long Shadow On the Ground

Listen to the Country- The Night Jar and the Bell
Listen to the Night Streamliner
Sounding like the wolves of Hell
Head for the water- the water of the cleansing spell
It was always are destination
On the express of the Ne’er Do Wells
And we rock thru Madison City
And we didn’t even know she was there
And when we hit the Buffers in Memphis
And Beale street didn’t have no prayer
I hear punks talk of anarchy- I hear hobos on the railroad
I hear mutterings on the chain-gangs
It was those men who built the roads

And if you put it all together
You didn’t even once relent
You cast a Long Shadow
And that is your testament

Somewhere in my soul, there’s always Rock and Roll

The song Joe Strummer wrote about Johnny Cash shortly before both of them died. There are tears in my eyes just from reading the first line. Please PLEASE go listen to this song if you like either one of these artists at all.
