Oh man, I don't know about you all, but I'm seeing a lot of great stuff on the horizon for this fall.  Among the bands coming through my town are:

Pretty Girls Make Graves
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Blood Brothers
Bauhaus
Dresden Dolls
The Epoxies
Constantines

Oh man, this is looking like it'll be a fun season.

Aw, I thought this thread was going to be about concerts played by The Fall. Oh well.

Looks like a good lineup you got there, fella.

I am sad. All I've got lined up so far is a New Pornographers show. But it is at a kickass venue.

PS. Check your town for a Bad Plus show. They're on tour.

I'm going to be in Ottawa, rather than Toronto... for school...

I'd go see Alexisonfire in September, but they're playing with the Used, which makes me really want to not... and tickets are like 40$...

However the Underground Operations Unity Tour should be under way by then... a bunch of underground super-indie punk bands in a small venue... nice...

Protest the Hero is playing a release show for their newest album on the 30th of September, which, though technically not fall, I consider to be noteworthy enough to include.

And if I'm in town, I'll go see Thrice, the Bled and Underoath (though I only like Thrice, to be fair). It's fun to skank around all the kids who think they're cool by flailing the air :)...

And I guess that's all... for now...

The Arcade Fire on October 2nd - Basically, it's going to be 100% awesome.

Metric on October 25th - About the same percentage of awesome, I believe.

Heavy Trash on November 4th - Who knows how it'll go?

Man, fuckshit.  Why the hell are Bauhaus playing the Paramount?  Totally not cool.  There's no pit!  If I'm going to see Bauhaus, I want to DANCE.

I hope they change venues.  The Fillmore would be awesome.

Yeah, I do.  I'm pretty psyched.  It's going to be expensive, and the paramount is the kind of place that doesn't have a pit, just seats, so it won't be the best venue to see them, but dude, it's fucking Bauhaus, right?

I'm just hoping they don't sell out in presale.

You should check they're not playing near you, because they just announced a shit-ton of tour dates in the states.

Actually, it turns out I won't be able to make it to that concert.  I have a conference I have to attend that week, so I'll be out of town.

But, I agree, awesomest experience ever.  I saw them this summer in Pittsburgh at the Garfield Artworks, which, if you've never been there, is basically nothing more than a small room.  They can fit about 200 folks in there, and that's being generous.  Basically, I was in THE front of a tiny little crowd, and the band was just absolutely amazing....great stage presence, powerful sound....plus,  I love the shit out of their music.  So, in all, that was probably THE best concert I've ever been to.

Life is wonderful, ain't it?

And, the only reason to see post-Danzig Misfits is if you're a masochist.  Fortunately, both the goth and punk subcultures are packed with people who get off on pain.

This is a tentative list, because I'll be extremely busy with school work this semester:
Sept. 8 - Of Montreal
Sept. 30 - Built to Spill
Oct. 19 - Mike Doughty / Orenda Fink
Oct. 22 - Dresden Dolls

plus probably at least 1 concert my college or one of the nearby colleges decides to hold.

I miss San Francisco.  Ahh, the halcyon days of this June when I went to 3 shows in 2 weeks.  That was fun.

Because I want to, and because I can't see them with Danzig, now can I?

Um, I have a Misfits shirt, a present from my old bf, and I don't EVER use the phrase "EVA"  and I can spell, when I can be arsed.

Man, yes, Devotchka today were awesome today, as were Swayback, as were the first band on, The Hot IQs.  Hot IQs sound a little like Hot Hot Heat or Les Savy Fav.  They're about to kick off a national tour, and they're probably worth catching if they come through your town.

Oh man, everyone was dancing (and I mean DANCING) to DeVotchKa.  It was GREAT.  SEE THEM.

Thunderbirds are Now!, The Gossip w/Frog Eyes, Xiu Xiu, maybe Bear vs Shark-I've never heard them, and Against Me!. These are the ones I'm interested in, not what I can afford. Oh, and I really want to go to Wolf Parade if my boyfriend can sneak me in. I've got tickets to Against Me! but not the others.

october - the decemberists (cheap tickets!)
november - queens of the stone age & death from above 1979

I saw constantines for the 2nd time last week...they put on one hell of a show

that's the one and only thing I hate about going away for school, the best shows are always in toronto so I have to keep coming back. argh.

HOLYSHIT!

I'm apparently seeing an Oingo Bonigo (kind of) show! Danny Elfman is a douche and doesn't want to bring them back together, so Johnny (aka Vatos) decided to try to get as many as he can. So far he has something like 4 of the old members and he says if either Elfman or Bartek joins, they're gonna go for it.
