Sufjan Stevens is having fun with his 50 state tour.  So am I :)

Michigan was released on July 1, 2003.

Illinois was released on July 5, 2005.

Which state will be next?  How far will he get?

('Course, the point isn't the destination . . . it's enjoying the ride. . . )

I'd be interested to hear the one about New Jersey. Diners and shopping malls and Newark, oh my!

I can't imagine him on the same project for another 48 years. I'm thinking he'll stop at Wyoming.

He hinted on NPR that Oregon might be next. <big grin from a sufjan fan who lives in said state>

Did he do entire concept albums and promise to do one for every one of the fifty states?

John Linnel did a  "state songs album." Frankly, I think he could have done a better job. This is coming from a pretty big TMBG fan too.

Yeah. I always though he was the John with actual talent. But apparently he's the John who's just a bigger kid. I totally met him though. That was awesome.

I mentioned this in a sufjan thread before but whatever.  Just wanted to add some of the states will just be EPs, so I heard.  Also he has to live in the state for a while first so he will be doing those he has lived in first I think.

His local show is sold out here already.
On the one hand, yay for him being popular.
On the other... damn him for being sold out!
