I'm looking for music reviews I could write for the next issue of our school's paper... Any good albums that have come out in the past week or that are coming out by October 17th or so?

Only one of interest (haven't looked too hard yet...) is the new BSS album, which I'm guilty of owning. It is released October 4th, so it would be fair game.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Didn't John Vanderslice's new album come out recently?

Franz Ferdinand, My Morning Jacket, Atmosphere, and what the hell, Kinky Friedman are dropping on October 4th. Kinky's is called They Ain't Makin' Jews Like Jesus Anymore. You might wanna review that for humour value.

Is that Kinky Friedman album a compilation or something?  'Cause love the man though I do, he's sure been milking that title song for all it's worth for quite a while now.

Wolf Parade Apologies to Queen Mary is coming out in a bit, along with Danger Doom The Mouse and the Mask and a new Long Winters EP. Also, Chocolate Genius has a new album coming out.

And yeah, the Kinky album is a compilation. His first. So if any of you kids out there want to get into his work, but don't where to start, here you go.

Kinky Friedman is ace.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

Ewigkeit's latest slice of psychoelectric retrofuturistic acid metal (best valid genre descriptor I ever made up)  'Conspiritus' came out, like, a week back. And it's brilliant. Not only does it sound like someone locked Hawkwind, The Prodigy and Rammstein in a basement together with a load of drugs, but it's got 'How To Conquer the World (Live at the Bohemian Grove)' and 'It's Not Reality' on it. And trust me. That makes a record good. Not only all this, but it's really, really, light. I mean, like, you could market this stuff. No growls or anything. And it's so goooood.

31 Knots' new album sounds very promising.
Also, Lightning Bolt and Horse The Band will release stuff later this year, I can't wait for these albums either. That will be a nice, insane and very loud way to end the year.

Lightning Bolt is cool, but that's only being released on the 18th. Just missing it.
