yeah, but that was before the original drummer left, and he was a dick. I liked the second drummer, third bassist, first guitarist and lead singer, and eighth djembe player.

I've always thought that they sounded like if the members of Modest Mouse went on tour with Sonic Youth, and one night they all got drunk and stabbed each other to death with crayons, and the combined members of Spoon and The Mountain Goats were the first to find the bodies, wherein they painted a mural on the side of a bus that then ran over Frank Black from the Pixies and Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo. A small child then began to cry at seeing the scene, and began throwing bottle caps, while crying, into a stream. At that same moment, Warren Zevon was having intercourse with the members of Parliment on the other bank of the stream, and they began to chant in Aramaic. Now imagine that, but played through an 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System.

They're shitty, untalented, and uninspired indie cliches.  I can't believe Pitchfork gave them an 8.3.  They suck almost as much as Coldplay.

I heard that on thier last tour, they did a hip-hop version of the Gourds' bluegrass version of Snoop Dogg's "Gin 'N Juice" in an attempt to make a rip in the space time contiuum due to the level of irony. They actually did cause a short man from Wisconsin to pee himself, although whether or not the irony-vortex had anything to do with it, I'm not sure.

Yeah! That's the one I saw on MTV! The one where they do the thing in that place with the stuff, right? I didn't think too much of it, really. It's been done.

I have all their CDs, and I've travelled across 3 states to get to their concerts (and then gone to them again when they reached my city) and i cry whenever I listen to [insert generic song name] because it reminds me of [insert generic break up story] and I'm secretly in love with the bass player that replaced the ugly one with the tattoo on his forehead and i know the lifestory of every single one of the 38 band members they've gone through...

but when I'm talking to an indie kid I stick firmly to my story on how much i hate those fucking posers, they're total sellouts OMGLOLZ.

Her roots, actually.  And yes, although she's the only one who can't see them.  It doesn't matter how black she dyes that hair, it's obvious to everyone she's a blonde.

That's a whole half a star higher than everything else they review, except for reissues, which alwasy get 5/5, even if the original record only got 3 and a half stars.

Also, anyone who gets the reference, RAWK
