Am I the only one that's hoping the interest garnered from the movie will spark another run on the series on SciFi instead of more movies? There's so much more depth to a serialization.
And, depending on the person, you don't necessarily need to have seen the series to enjoy the movie. A friend of mine totally loved the movie, said he followed pretty much everything, and never saw a single episode. Same with my dad. Hell, I'd only seen about 3 episodes before I saw the movie.
But you should still go buy the DVD set and watch them anyway ;)

I would love a new series, but the scope of the movie just seemed too grand. I'm just afraid that they wouldn't be able replicate that feeling. The series did a good job of showing the scope of the universe they live in, but the movie heightened it. They could go to more worlds and show that there is civilization out there. It's possible, though. Right now I would be happy with whatever they can give us.
