--- Quote from: shrimp ---Hey, DAMMIT, I listen to pop-punk and am pretty sure I'm as mature as a 23 year old needs to be. I have a career chosen and am actually settling down into it, I am getting married AND already had a mortgage.
--- End quote ---
Yeah? Well... well... well, it's probably a really immature mortgage.
shrimp:
Yeah, the most immature of mortgages! One for a falling down wreck that I lived in with a pot dealer who was 65!
I ditched the dealer and sold the wreck, am now looking forward to moving into a nice house with a HOUSEWIDE speaker system, hell yes'm! Pity my new neighbours, they sha;l be listening to my music all day and all night in EVERY ROOM! woo!
Dalkaen:
I don't think someone who listens to a particular genre is necessarily immature; there are plenty of people who completely ignore lyrical content of songs and just pay attention to the music. Furthermore, most people don't take lyrics seriously. I listen to Slayer, but that doesn't make me a devil-worshipping... uh... devil-worshipper.
I think the lyrics to most rap are pretty stupid, but they don't bother a lot of people, or they just don't care about the lyrics and listen to the beat and the way said lyrics are delivered.
Luke:
I listen to rap for the rhythm. You have to admit, there's some humor to be found in lyrics oftentimes, but if you ever (and some of you won't, granted) feel that you need to take a break from rocking to do some jumpin', then that's when you pop in Dr. Dre or something. Multiple rhymes and rhythm combine to make some pretty awesome stuff when it's done right.
