Um...that's not much of a stretch. Although they are more Fugazi than Rites of Spring, it is a fair assumption.

I saw a documentary on MuchMusic once entitled Much Music's Evolution: from the Ramones to Green Day. It intrigued me only because they had mentioned the Clash a bunch of times in the commercial.
Bands like Blink 182 and Simple Plan were named as "real punk revival."
I'm sorry, but putting Joe Strummer on the same level as that guy from Simple Plan who can't stop whining about his parents or school or something?
