Not, to be honest, that I have much musical beef with HIM. They are derivative, and generic, yes, and every song they've ever made is three minutes too long, but they're not offensive or anything. However, there was a point when Metal Hammer interviewed Ville Valo every month. It rubs me up hard when bands with such tiny amounts of originality or real talent* get so much fame, it gets on my tits. Plus, their lyrics are awful. Razorblades = love. Or something. We don't care guys, the only people who care are the 13 year old girls who got addicted to cutting because of your retarded lyrics. Not to mention that that's a shite lyrical theme. Congrats for prefiguring the emopop trend. Cunts.


*their guitarist is in To Seperate The Flesh From the Bones, and his solo album is ok, so I can't say they're talentless. However, they are and will always be generic finnish 'suicide rock'.

I agree. It doesn't matter whether it's Linkin Park, Korn, HIM, or anyone else, teenage agnst is probably the most overdone, unoriginal lyrical theme in modern music.
