Sixties psycadelic rock (if you can call it that)
Chivalryisn'tdead:
Personally my favourite bands are older bands. I mean a generation or two old bands. My favourite 60's rock band is The Doors. I think that it's beacause the songs have interesting subtext and have good rythym and melodies. Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, and The Rolling Stones come in close though.
The only "grunge" rock (that I have heard) that I think is worthy to be deemed music is Nirvana. Seriously, En Utero is awesome.
As far as heavy metal goes, Black Sabbath seems to be the best, though Ozzy did do crazy good stuff on his own (Blizard of Oz... period). Metallica has a few songs that I can listen to, understand and like, and I have heard that ACDC is good, but have no access to their music.
Oh, and for the record, aside from Neil Young and Jhonny Cash songs, country music isn't music.
Thrillho:
That poll is pretty messed up.
I vote The Beatles, but that's only because this thread claims to be about 60s Psychedelia - Pink Floyd only had one and a bit albums of psychedelia, and good thought it was it doesn't match the Beatles' four or five.

You are fucked in the head. That's all.

We're talking 60's psychedelic rock here, right? Most of the bands you named are neither 60's nor psychedelic. But I voted the Doors, for no particular reason. I was in a "let's vote for the Doors" kind of mood, say.
Se7en:
Yeah, i think only the beatles count as phchadelic 60s rock. Since they practically invented it anyway, they get my vote.
