The Fiery Furnaces at the MFA
Jarne:
The Fiery Furnaces play at the Museum of Fine Arts tonight in MA. I'm pretty excited, seeing as how this is the first big concert I actually want to go to (Green Day concert was fun, but I don't care for their music and Paul McCartney was fun, but again, I'm not a fan).
Anyone else going? I'll be the verticaly space efficient kid in the Irony shirt and blue jeans.
Also, any advice no the do's and don'ts of an indie concert?
Valrus:
Don't, and I'm sure my fellow forumgoers will back me up on this, just stand there. Other people will, as they did when I went to a FF concert (p.s. it was totally fucking awesome), and if you so much as bob up and down you might just feel like a moron. But let me tell you, I really don't like dancing, and I was moving more than most of the people on the floor in front of the stage, and probably a much bigger fan than most of them too. Seriously though, think about what it must feel like to be up on a stage rocking your ass off and have like 30 people right there, so close they could touch you, standing stock still or nodding their heads slightly and peering up at you through their fucking black square-rimmed glasses. I defended these people in another thread, because I can understand the feeling of not enjoying dancing or whatever, but having everyone just standing around? Not cool. In fact I would go so far as to say: Lame!
So yeah, that ended up being longer than I originally intended. I'm not going to be there, but shake your ass. You know the fucking Furnaces are going to earn it.
Jarne:
Shake yer ass at the Museum of Fine Arts. Gotcha. Maybe they'll play Chris Michaels in two minutes if I dance good enough!

Because how many other chances will you get? Without curators and shit throwing you out, I mean.

Ooh, don't think so. I doubt it's physically possible to do it in less than four. ;)
They might play it, though.
Also, I hope you're looking forward to hearing some stuff off the new album.
Also, if you stick around after, you can probably chat with Matt and Eleanor. I got my copy of EP signed!
Jarne:
There where seats, so not much standing or anything. Though I did "get jiggy with it" during Don't Dance Her Down (last song, only two other people where standing!). And Elaine had a cold, so her voice was raspy. Not that I'm complaining, it was fun.
