The Fiery Furnaces at the MFA

Stifled Dreams:
I SERIOUSLY SAW YOU.

No joke; I saw you waiting in line and I was about to comment on your t-shirt but we kept walking. I was also planning to post something to see if the kid in the Irony t-shirt was in the forums. I was the girl with long straight brown hair, an arcade fire shirt under a blue shirt and jeans - I doubt you saw me, though. I was with a bunch of other highschool kids (9 of 'em).

Anyways, I was sitting in the front row. One of my brother's friends went up and gave Matt a recording of his band. Also, my brother got a set-list and got it signed by both of them. Matt seemed pretty pissed off though, which was understandable since the sound was pretty messed up. I feel really bad for Eleanor, her voice didn't sound too great, but it obviously wasn't her fault. It was still a great concert, though.

I was so happy that they did play Chris Michaels, but I wished that they had played all of Chief Inspector Blancheflower, since that is my favorite song ever.

Anyways, if you want to continue this discussion, maybe we should take it to PMs because I doubt anyone else wants to read this, and the closure of the Don't Be Stupid forums made me more conscious of being rude/unnecessary.

EDIT: Matt, dammit.

sjbrot:
Hey, does anyone know what's happening with the new Fiery Furnaces album? In the next-to-last issue of Magnet, there was this big article talking about how it should be coming out soon and that it was this big, ambitious double album, featuring their organ playing grandma featured prominently on one disk.

Jarne:
Last I heard, they're coming out with two albums. One this month featuring they're grandmother and the other sometime in Spring of '06.

Valrus:
That's the case; the grandma album is called Rehearsing My Choir and it's not a double album. The next is to be called Bitter Tea and at the end of the concert I went to, Eleanor said she hoped it'd be out by next March.

Garcin:
Holy everloving crap, all of Rehearsing My Choir and available for streaming on Amazon here.

(Who do you love?  Come on.  Admit it.)

I'm only at The-Wayward-Granddaughter (Track 2) -- and my socks!  They are rocked!

The Friedburger grandmum, Olga Sarantos, has a huge part, and her spoken word contributions are quite awesome.

I'm seeing the show tonight at Town Hall.  Be wearing my Bearmonster T -- shout at to any other FF QC forumites.  Matt's going to do the Grandmum parts apparently, and I imagine that Eleanor still has her cold, but expectations are set for awesome.  Will post how it goes if anyone is interested.
