I think it depends on what you get. For example, if you're one of the thousands of 18- and 19-year-old girls who get a star tattooed on their ankle/hip, or a tribal design around your upper arm, then yeah, it's a bit cliche and unoriginal. But if you get something that has meaning to you, I don't think it's passe. I just figure, if you decide to get a tattoo before you think of something you want, it's probably a bad idea.

Gareth is getting a Jason Voorhes tat on his back. I doubt thats something that is usually done or cliched. I want an ouroboros which maybe slightly more common. But not until Ive managed to lose so damn weight. :)

i really want a simple tattoo of a question mark, for a bunch of different reasons. i got the idea a few months ago, and it's been stuck in my mind... but i think i'll wait awhile before i get to make sure it's something i want on me for the rest of my life. i'm just about positive i'll get it, though, i'm just have no idea where...

You should get it on the side of your leg so that people will see it under the bathroom stall. Every time people see it they'll be thinking, "? indeed. Who is that?"

I drew and inked a gryphon I'd been planning to get tattooed for my 18th birthday, but due to a combination of lack of funds and lack of balls I never actually got it done. That and I haven't decided where I want it yet.
You can still see it here though. I hope I can get it soon, I'm really pretty proud of the drawing so it would be a shame for it to go to waste.
