Der Tattoo Thread.

I was just curious how it made them feel to not have any part in the design. I am sure most would do it, but I was wondering if the artists have any sort of creativity ego they have to maintain.

Fuck the tattooist, it is a permanent piece on your skin.

You have to consider that most tattoo artists bread and butter are Flash (premade tattoos such as the Sailor Jerry stuff). If you bring in something that isn't flash and/or generic tribal, that's a step up from the usual client.

At the tattooing and piercing place that I usually go to there are three tattooists. Two have their own style, and if you get anything done by them, you pretty much go in expecting their work, their style. The other will do whatever you bring in. The two that have their own styles have been tattooing for years, but as far as I know the other guy is somewhat new. He'll do whatever you bring in though, and he does nice work. He is a shitty piercer though.
And Darby, I saw that, but there is no way in hell I'll be able to make it to Portland in time. Though it would be a nice vacation.
