So you know how I feel when people won't listen when I tell them how to pronounce Beijing (Bay-jing not Beige-ing!). Or insist on calling wushu "kung-fu"...

...why, though? I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with snakebites (or angelbites or whatever the hell else there are).

A big part of it is that it makes determining what the hell everyone is talking about in an online world rather difficult. Also there are about 6 or 7 different bites and it changes depending on where someone is from as to what part of the body the piercing is for. It's maddening.

I don't fuss about names too much. "guages" makes me cringe. "bite" is only a problem for me because the names are so inconsistent. If someone says s snake bite they might mean:
