I think the appeal of that tattoo is that it's in an obscure spot and you forget about it, and thus it continues to be amusing every time you remember it. As in, rather than being an ass and overtly whipping out the silly fake moustache regularly, you only remember it once in a while when someone asks about it.
Course, my reasoning abilities may be impaired by the cute girl.
