I get my tattoos done at Blue Dragon Tattoo which is about 4 or 5 miles south of where I live. Its nice to be so close. All of their artists have been doing their stuff for like 20+ years, so I never worry about quality. My sister on the other hand got some of hers at the place where people learn to do tattoos. They are pretty shitty, to be honest.
But they were cheap.

I get most of my work done at Evermore Gallery, in Edwardsville, IL. The staff is hella awesome and they are all super great people. Lots of great work from there.

Plus its like a 5 minute walk from my house.

Got the idea to add a Spy vs. Spy tattoo somewhere among the rest of the black linework I have on my arm. I am quite aware this is probably a stupid idea but it is not like I don't have stupid tattoos already.

Lately, I have been toying with the idea of getting an arm band of the artwork for Cursive's Ugly Organ. They are quite possibly my favorite band ever, and it's an awesome album. Plus the artwork it great.

I had a friend with very similar artwork on their body. Honestly it is one of those things where even though it is a band tattoo, it is also kind of nonspecific enough that it will always just be pretty cool looking regardless of your future feelings about Cursive.

The ones in his tattoo with the GL symbol are what the comics community affectionately refer to as the "Rainbow Brite Corps." In a storyline last year, Green Lantern's old nemesis Sinestro formed his own cosmic ring bearer thing based off the color yellow (The yellow symbol) and this summer's big DC event shindig is supposed to involve a bunch of other colored Corps, which are all the other symbols.

The second one is from Grant Morrison's blech run on X-Men. Not familiar with the first.

It took me a while to get into that arc, but I really enjoyed the RIOT AT XAVIERS' storyline. I'm debating whether or not to get "MAGNETO WAS RIGHT" tatt'd below the symbol or not.
Also, I think it's poignant to mention that both of the comic tats are on the same arm. The whole arm will eventually have comic book-related, while still meaningful, tats on it. The left arm is a bit more serious and reflective of personal philosophies and identity and such.

Is that on the back of your leg? (I know this sounds really weird) but I think it's kind of fun to look at close ups of tattoos and try to guess what body part its on.

Anywho, I think for my next one I might either make it symmetrical and get my left calf done or continue on my right leg.

I would recomend the "everything will be okay" saying, it will be more useful, and is more hopeful, whereas the other can only be considered ironic for the majority of the time.

Thats a great idea. I think "eveything will be ok" would be a idea. Not to discourage you but i hear palm tattoos don't last long because of sweating, constant contact with stuff, etc.

It'll require several application most likely and it will wear down a lot quicker just due to the area, but it's a small enough area that touching it up over your lifetime wouldn't be terrible.

Might hurt like a bitch to get it drilled in deep enough though.

Any large wound (because that's what a tattoo is, a wound with ink in it) on the palm will not heal as well, since, well it's the palm, think about how many times your palm stretches in a given day. Type out a sentence, notice that your palm moves a bit. I would suggest getting it not on the palm, it wouldn't heal as well and it'd fade a lot quicker than if you got it on the back of your hand, your wrist, or pretty much anywhere other than your palm or the bottom of your foot.

Ok, here is the deal. I WANT it on my hand. So, attempting to convince me to do otherwise is pointless, and vaugely conterproductive, since I tend to do the opposite of what people tell me.

The wrist idea is good, as it is still vaguely visible, and could be hidden for a job. But nonetheless, the palm of my hand is still my number one spot to do it.

Now, other than naysaying, does anyone have an information on tattoos in this area?

Talk to your tattooist! It's a bit tricky to do them well because of what jace said, bad place for a wound, and your skin wears away quickly on your palms.

It will fade, but it takes years for it to fully fade away. It seems to me that she is more than willing to get it touched up whenever she needs to.

If you want it on your palm, and you want to have to go back every so many years to get it touched up, then do it. Unless you think it would be a HASSLE. Which, if you want it so badly, I don't see how it could be a hassle.
I love palm tattoos. I think they're adorable.

Well, this is only kind of true. I've seen finger and palm tats that fade to ridiculousnesses within a couple of months, but after a couple of touch up sessions it usually sticks pretty well.

My point was that while palm tattoos are cool, they can also fuck up your hands. When the tissue heals it pulls a bit tighter, and it'll definitely take longer to heal because your hands stretch so much, if you think those aren't really important factors, go for it. Make it happen. I'll never get a palm tattoo myself, but that's because I already have to wear long sleeves to teach Kung Fu anyways, so I'll probably just go down my arms and chest.

Holy shit, I realized I have extra money and I can get my tattoo finished.

Yep, you can... my girlfriend has my name tat'd around her ring finger. She's got a dozen or so more... I've got a few as well... I'll post some pics later...

I've got "TIFFANY" (girlfriend) run down the outside of my right forearm. "PATIENCE" (the virtue) down the outside of the left. I've got the cliched tribal tat on the right bicep. I've got "RAYNIE" (daughter) down the inside of my left forearm. I've also got my left arm sleeve started. Right now it's a full bicep of the Hal Jordan Green Lantern on the outside and a lightning-filled Green Lantern logo on the inside of my arm. The lightning connects the two pieces. The bottom of the sleeve will wrap around the lettering mentioned earlier. It will have Zartan (GIJoe/Cobra) riding his swamp rider shooting bullets up at the GL. The bullets will wind around my arm.

Eventually I plan to sleeve the right arm as well... Although I may just go with a full tribal sleeve... Just not sure yet...

God they are addicting and expensive...

My little brother got this on his calf:

It is the Crawford crest, his rendition. He thinks I should get it on my right (I think, the opposite of whichever his is) calf. I am trying to think if I want to.
Basically, I think a clan crest is super cool and all, but really, someone named Crawford came over to this continent so many years ago, that part of our family tree is not all that well known, and I have no particular Scottish connection.
Still, I think the idea is cool and I would totally get a matching calf tattoo with my little brother that he drew and is our family name, especially if my cousin is tattooing it.
