It'd be a very, very kick ass tat. I like the idea behind it (I'm a Tom Paine, Kinda Guy), and the execution would be cool. In Plain Black or as a Scarification it'd be very Striking.
And that segway's nicely into the next point.
I got my first Scarification. Had it done last september after I passed my retake exams. Mainly on a bet with myself. It was an hour of non stop cutting, with no brakes apart from changing scalpel blades. I was pleased because the artist who did it offered me a price by the hour, (£50) or a price for the peice (£80). It's an interesting sensation, being purposely cut on, by someone else. What was really weird was feeling the blade get blunter. That was odd. I'd say it hurts about the same as a tattoo, but in a different way, short moment's on intense pain, and then a gap.
I haven't got any pictures of it healed up, the lines have blurred a bit, but the shape is still distinct, and even. In colour it's a light pink, and I like it.
Oh and for those who don't know what it is, post your guess's and then read on.....
....It's a Flint Arrowhead, Im an archer and knapper, and it goes with the prehistoric theme of my other tat. You'd be surprised what some people have thought it was.
I have some other idea's in the pipeline, for a 21st birthday tat. Possibly an arrow on my left inner arm, done either in black and white pencil style, or maybe colour, really realistic. The Artist I'd go to is good enough that I'd bring him in one of my Primitive style, bound fletched, flintheaded arrows, and he'd be able to put it on my arm, from shoulder to elbow. And a Tree, I've been thinking of, maybe oak, maybe yew, on my leg.
