Oh, I wasn't saying I'd get a straight up z, I was saying I'd get Missouri.

If someone got a zoro related body modifcation, they'd have to get a scarification of a big Z across their chest! Why have I not seen this yet?!?

If I got a state tattoo, I would get an outline of Ohio on my chest. It's like a heart! It'd be so cliche but I wouldn't really care.

But someone please get Florida. Dongslol.

It'd be a very, very kick ass tat. I like the idea behind it (I'm a Tom Paine, Kinda Guy), and the execution would be cool. In Plain Black or as a Scarification it'd be very Striking.

And that segway's nicely into the next point.

I got my first Scarification. Had it done last september after I passed my retake exams. Mainly on a bet with myself. It was an hour of non stop cutting, with no brakes apart from changing scalpel blades. I was pleased because the artist who did it offered me a price by the hour, (£50) or a price for the peice (£80). It's an interesting sensation, being purposely cut on, by someone else. What was really weird was feeling the blade get blunter. That was odd. I'd say it hurts about the same as a tattoo, but in a different way, short moment's on intense pain, and then a gap.

I haven't got any pictures of it healed up, the lines have blurred a bit, but the shape is still distinct, and even. In colour it's a light pink, and I like it.

Oh and for those who don't know what it is, post your guess's and then read on.....

....It's a Flint Arrowhead, Im an archer and knapper, and it goes with the prehistoric theme of my other tat. You'd be surprised what some people have thought it was.

I have some other idea's in the pipeline, for a 21st birthday tat. Possibly an arrow on my left inner arm, done either in black and white pencil style, or maybe colour, really realistic. The Artist I'd go to is good enough that I'd bring him in one of my Primitive style, bound fletched, flintheaded arrows, and he'd be able to put it on my arm, from shoulder to elbow. And a Tree, I've been thinking of, maybe oak, maybe yew, on my leg.

Well actually I've been considering it for aesthetic reasons anyway. I don't want giant gaping holes in my ears at all but I think I'd like to go up to a 6 or a 4 and wear some cute blown glass spirals or plugs.

But fuck, wireless earbuds!

Actually, on that note:

Is it acceptable to use someone else's old jewelry to stretch if you properly disinfect it? I'm broke but I have a lot of friends with stretched lobes. I could easily borrow their shit and I'm not looking to go up very far in size.

I have gotten like 5 different 16mm plugs in the last week. It means I don't really want to stretch beyond this size anymore.

Man, putting in the souble flares I have in now was not exactly comfortable, I don't know why anyone would just shove shit in their ears. I've seen people tear their lobes doing that and ugh, no thanks.

So what Steve said and actually the double flares I ordered off of Body Artforms were rather reasonably priced when you get around to buying your own plugs or whatever. Mine are small so less expensive, but both of my pairs were right around $15 per pair and they send you free stuff. (The more you spend, the more freebies you get.)

hey tattoo thread.

so i was just sittin here readin the forum and i touched my right ear and noticed the front half my plug had gone into my ear. its a double flare screw-on (because if this i still haven't taken them out yet, i cant figure out how to get enough leverage to unscrew them), so there was a bigger piece in the middle of my lobe than there should have been. i pushed it back and then salt soaked the fuck outta my right ear. there's a little red ring around the hole in my ear, and im just wondering if i should be worried about anything serious or if i should just keep soaking my ear for the next few days and not really worry about it.

Any idea what caused the swelling at all? I'm assuming not since it came as a bit of a suprise, but if you know it was a bump or something it seems unlikely to be an infection of any kind. The red ring at this point is probably just a ring of irritation due to the pressure, but I would definitely keep an eye on it and keep soaking.

Take some anti-imflammatory regularly until the swelling goes down. IBprofuen etc etc will all work. You really need to get the jewelry changed , preferrably to something that isn't a plug or tunnel and doesn't have flares so it can have plenty of breathing room. Something like pincers or talons or the like would be optimal. If you really can't get the screw on out yourself, go to a piercer to help you out. Until the jewelry gets changed it's not gonna get any better.

Afterwards, just keep an eye on it for a day or two to make sure the swelling oes down. Either way you might want to consider downsizing for a bit if it doesn't go away within a day or two just to alleviate more pressure. Downsizing sucksbut in the long run it might be the best option.

But yeah, otherwise, keep up with the salt soaks and just keep an eye on it. Good luck man.

alright, ive taken some ibprofuen so hopefully there was just too much pressure and it will go down.

also do you have any tips for unscrewing a plug, in case im doing something wrong, or should it just unscrew itself. (also for the record im at 8g)

Depends on how badly swollen it is. If the swelling goes down enough that you can grab ahold of both the front and back flare, use something liek a papertowel or latec gloves for at least one end just to keep it from turning.

If not, a piercer should be abel to use a set of jewelry tools (basically it's needle nose pliers, but sterile) to get it off for you.

Hey I recently got the barbell in my eyebrow changed to a ring with a captive bead. It feels awesome and it's actually heaps easier to keep clean and such (i've had it for 4 years and never really any issues with it) but lately i can kind of see the ring through the skin and it seems like it might have moved forward a bit? Is this like an early sign of rejection?

Also, thinking about getting a second eyebrow ring next to the first one (left brow) and maybe getting my lip pierced.

Thoughts?

I want to get this done in a ring around my left forearm to start work on my video game themed sleeve. What i don't know is if I want all of the characters or just the basic versions.

Other games and game characters I'm looking to for inspiration, the game and watch octopus and three divers, an inventory list from the first Shadowgate complete with spiterring torches, the cover of Maniac Mansion, and then the more obvious stuff like Zelda and Mario and whatnot.

update on my lobes (mostly for stephen)

so i popped some ibuprofuen for a day an a half about, and all the inflammation has gone down. the morning after i posted my plug went through my ear again but it hasn't happened since. i agree though that i need change my jewelry (also i just want to i am not the biggest fan of my current plugs) now im just wondering if i should just cop another pair of 8g plugs and let those sit for a while or if its safe to stretch (i think it should be, this was just a lil thing and it hasn't been a problem since like, two days ago)

Good to ear!

I wouldn't reccomend stretching this soon after really, but if the swelling is completely down and there is no sign of any leftover isues, you should be alright. I would just check for any tearing that might have occured from it swelling over the flares first, but otherwise I'd say it's probably okay.
