The Decemberists woes.

Now, now, no man is an inland.

Sorry.

Very little self-control.

Eldirial:
They where going to be around the Connecticut area recently, but I had a bunch of midterms and a paper- made me sad I couldn't go, as they are one of the couple bands I actually heard of because of QC, and I simply adore them.  I could probably spend a few months with only Decemberists and Iron & Wine and I would be a happy camper.

loyalpeon:

--- Quote from: Switchblade ---they're playing in Nottingham on the 14th. I plan to go, but I haven't ordered tickets yet as my birthday is on the 31st of this month, and my folks and friends know that I'd like to go.

Your birthday's on haloween? My poor child, you must have gotten hell for that - literally. 'bah da bing'

Anyways, only concert i've ever been to on my own was a Nine Inch Nails one and I spent all the time right in the centre of the mash pit - which worked supposedly well I suppose.

So, yeah, i recommend that: start a mash pit of your own at the Decemberists gig (who i'm going to see when they're coming to london) and have all the fun in the world.

--- Quote from: sjbrot ---The Art of Going to Concerts Alone might help.

But then again, it might not. I can only say that I have met two people at concerts spontaneously and without having them be introduced to me.

Great artcile, which nicely sums up my experience with going to concerts alone too. Only I maybe start conversations more often, which is advised against in there; I'd advise against it too. While it can feel great to go there alone and manage to get in a conversation withouth people being weirded out that you're there alone (sometimes they're alone there too, but usually not), it can be distracting from the experience. Of course, if they're attractive, meybe not, but there comes another problem: there's noone with you to keep you from making a fool of yourself when you've had a few drinks.

I do too. You get to scream and make an idiot of yourself, and your friends can't embarrass you in front of other friends next time you meet up.
