Local (to you) bands that rock.

I NEED SLEEP

They are pretty much one of my favorite bands ever.

Right cause 'Tess of the D'urbervilles' was SUCH a hardcore novel *shakes head at kids and their silly bandnames these day*

anyways around here theres not much of a live music scene and if it is it will be bands playing shitty rock/punk/alternative type music covers that being said however lots of my mates are in bands which kick ass like

Dr Parallax
and the now defunct Exonerate :(

Firevine:
Oh man, Atlanta has some great local stuff.  I really suck at describing stuff though, so bear with me.

Avenge Vegas Just pretty much no frills female fronted rock.  I love these gals.
Linger  Obviously Radiohead influenced, but heavier and noisier by far.
Homeroom A powerpop dorkrock 4 piece.  Lots of songs about high school heartbreak and stuff, but not emo in the slightest.
Second Shift They just kinda kick it old school.
Royal 7Another powerpop group, but I can't really place these guys though.  I just dig them.

amok:
Unfortunately I have the honour of living in South Wales, which has the dubious honour of being the centre of the shitty MTVmo movement :S yep, we gave you Funeral For A Friend and Bullet For My AIDS-Ridden Inability To Write A Single Goddamn Decent Song, I mean Valentine.

Thankfully there's a few diamonds in the rough, check out my former flatmate's band formed through our uni live music society, Cellar Door. Yes, it's a MyGay, I keep telling 'em to get a real website. But it has some songs on. :)

Hat:
There are two really awesome bands I like in Brisbane at the moment. One is the Kidney Thieves, a sort of insane nu-funk group that just totally rock my socks off every time I see them, and Mobstar, who are like Whitesnake except that I like them.
