  • WTF was I thinking when I picked this name?
buy-a-thon!
« on: 10 Nov 2005, 07:21 »

Just spent a large chunk of my birthday money today. My CD collection has now grown by:

Counting Crows: Recovering the Satellites
Bjork: Greatest hits
Mogwai: Happy Songs for Happy People.
The Arcade Fire: Arcade Fire EP
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Listening through them, I can hear that old man from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom saying "You have chosen... wisely".

so yeah, recent big bulk buys and subsequent head-nodding... go!

I don't get to bulk buy very often anymore, but I did recently, thanks to some nice rolaty fees.  here's what i got:

Android Lust: Dragonfly CDM
Skinny Puppy: Greater Wrong of the Right Live DVD
Unter Null: Sick Fuck EP / Neocide
Pain Station: Dead is Dead
Converter: Blast Furnace
Antigen Shift: Implicit Structures

I'm in a noisy mood.

The Fiery Furnaces - EP (it has 10 songs WTF!?)

and it cost me £15.

So my pockets still jingle.

Good choices all, especially EP and Moon and Antarctica. EP is clearly not an actual ep in length, but it's not an album, but more of a singles collection. Such good singles though.

I recently hit up Amoeba Records (LA) which is heaven for me, and came away with:

Arrcade Fire    Cold Wind/Brazil 45
Smashing Pumpkins   Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Q and Not U     Power
Avenue Q soundtrack (Amazing play, and an amazing soundtrack)
Thermals       More Parts Per Million
E      A Man Called E

I love amoeba music.

Didn't we already have a "Latest purchases thread" like, three days ago?

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

This is a "post your recent buy-a-thon" thread.

Not a "try to be more indie than people and tell them you may buy some stuff" thread.

Maybe it's time for you to stop targeting me EVERY time I post and trying to be a cock to me, because that way it ensures that I won't do it to you.

Joel, don't look down on Carl. Pretty much all the more obscure bands you like, I introduced you to.
mmm'k?
Carl, does it really matter how indie you are?
really?

Have a bannana and chill homies

Recent buys have been....

er, not alot to be honest. Got 'The Throes' by Two Gallants a few weeks ago. And the copy of Sundalic Twins I ordered from amazon 8 billion years ago still hasn't come :(
