Gallagher Slags "indie shit"

During a recent phone call to (Australian radio programme) Super Request (host) Rosie Beaton managed to coax Noel Gallagher out of his shell to comment on the current state of British music.

"Let's call it what it is right, it's indie shit. None of 'em are trying to make it big. They're all trying to make it small. Or medium."

I'm sure they were at the shitty NME awards being hailed as the Indiest band around!

They were smiling then!

NME and Oasis need to die!

"You're a nipple!"

Greatest quote in the history of rock music.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

As a general slag-off of the current British indie scene, I much prefer Andy Partridge's (X.T.C.) labelling of the various identikit bands as "Future Dogs Die in Kaiser Ferdinand's Hot Hot Car Party".

Doesn't trying to make it big seem like a cop out? Why not stay true to the music you love?
That said, I fucking hate the current state of British music...

Where the argument falls through, of course, is the fact that all the bands in bold are decent-to-awesome.

So wait, are Dogs Die In Hot Cars that popular in Britain that they can get name-checked by jealous ex-stars? I've yet to hear them radio-wise in the States, and they really are decent-to-awesome.

Those Gallagher brothers in Oasis should just break melons on stage like that other Gallagher guy.  I want to see them try to be arrogant pricks about that.
