Emo?

note also, emo kids, who are a (largely negatively stereotyped) subculture who listen to emo music, mope a lot, have ultra-trendy haircuts and write about how miserable they are in their LiveJournals.

Nah, those kids tend to listen to bad metal bands like Norma Jean in my experience. Emo kids usually spend their time bidding vast amounts on records on Ebay which are out on CD anyway, talking about 'oop' vinyl and being DIY purists.

I wish people wouldn't make the mistake of thinking things that end in the word 'core' can ever be metal. I mean, Crossover can be metal, but that has no core. If you see what I mean.
Anyway, Norma Jean are not metal in any universe. They're just shit.
a pack of wolves:
You know, I rather like the way that hardcore fans swear blind Norma Jean are nothing to do with them, and metal guys say the exact same thing. Let's say Norma Jean should take the blame for Norma Jean, and it's not either of our fault's Khar. We remain unsullied :)
RollOfDimes:
Another thing I was wondering about... I play accoustic (though probably can't spell it) guitar, used to be self-destructive, and may be depressed and/or obsessive-compulsive.. but I wouldn't consider myself emo. I don't whine about random shit online, my favorite kind of music is Broadway (well, and rock, but you get my point), and though the things I get upset about may seem trivial to others, I feel like I can't help it. Yet, this all seems to be another steriotype for emoness. Blah, evil labeling terminology....
