I've only heard two of there things"summer" and "fear satan" I love them both, but as I've only just started to listen to them and know there are people maybe in this here fourm who listen to them more, might be able to recogmend some of thier best.

Well, just as a suggestion, since you're just getting into them, buying their newest, "Government Commissions" (a live album of sorts) would be a good start. It's not as cohesive as an actual full length, but it does have some of their best songs on it, especially the version of "Like Herod" which they stretched out an extra 7 minutes. As far as actual albums go, "Young Team" is generally considered their best. I myself started with "Rock Action". Really though, all of their albums are solid. Except for that remix album but I haven't given that as much time to as I should be.

But this is just one dude's opinion. Others on here might have some better suggestions.

I could recommend some songs, but ultimately with a band like mogwai you're much better off owning a complete album than snagging a few tracks from itunes or wherever.  It's about the listening experience, not catchy hooks or anything.  As an album, "happy songs for happy people" gets my vote... fairly cohesive, and not a subpar track on it.

thanks for the suggestions, I've been ordered to write up a list of crap I want for xmas and more music is definatly on top (along with upgradnig this fething computer) so thanks I think I'll get young team because it's the first album. Will I find it on record stores easily (I'm UK if that helps you answering)
And Kid, that avatar is pyramid songs am I right? I love that song listen to it alot :)
