KharBevNor:
Wrong thread mate.

Kai:
What the hell was up with that post?

Second the Metal Archives, by the way.

--- Quote from: psychorhino ---What do I like about metal?  That is actually a very hard question to answer... I guess always like strong, pulsating music, and heavy metal fits that bill perfectly...As to the classics, I have the basics, and that is all I will lay claim to: Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Slayer etc.

Just a quick note.  Cross Samael - Reign of Light off that list.  By no means at all is it bad; they're one of my favorite bands harkening back to 96 or so, but I don't think it's what you'd be looking for.  If you pick up any Samael, I think Passage would be more in tune to what you'd dig.

How are you with vocals?  Can you tolerate screaming/growling?  That's a big thing for the average music advocate. Far too many people can't/won't get past the vocals to give the actual music a chance.

KharBevNor:
I merely put Reign of Light as he says he likes rap and I've always thought Reign of Light had a kind of rap vibe, the vocals and so forth. I've not heard Passage, so I'll take your word for it.

--- Quote from: RUMBLEMOOSE ---http://www.metalstorm.ee has downloadable metal, some of it is quite good. Most of it is obscure. Surprise your metal friends!

I have to say I love this website, their monthly compilations always have some excellent underground goodies.  Unfortunately, I typically get hooked on said goodies, which make my musical tastes extremely hard to shop for...

If you go check out this month's compilation (you need to register with the website to be able to download them), then I'd recommend the songs by Agony, Arafel, Widow, and Miseria.  They're death, black, heavy, and gothic, respectively, and they're all quite good, particularly the song by Widow.
