ozphactor:
Let's see...

20. Isolee: Got this recently and am listening to it at the moment. So far, so good.
19. Pelican: Heard of, but haven't listened to. [Edit: No wait, they're metal, and I haven't heard of them. Stupid animal name bands. Nurr.]
18. Opeth: Too much of a pansy for metal :P
17. Yob: Never heard of.
16. Poker Flat. Never heard of.
15. The Juan MacLean: Never heard of.
14. Sigur Ros: Yes, please.
13. Serena Maneesh: Never heard of.
12. The Hold Steady: Never heard of.
11. Bell Orchestre: Never heard of.
10. The Decemberists: Definitely. Damn that crazy-ass (almost literally, if you consider his voice) Colin Meloy and "The Mariner's Revenge Song." The rest of the album was excellent too, though, so I would probably rank this higher than 10, but that's just me.
9. Spoon: Mm-mm good. Hey, am I the only who has an inexplicable urge to just strut about the house when listening to this album? Or turn my camera on?
8. Vitalic: Never heard of.
7. Clor: Never heard of.
6. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah: Good, but it would probably be lower on my list.
5. Broken Social Scene: Been trying to get my hands on it.
4. Deerhoof: Got this recently and am listening to it at the moment.
3. Animal Collective: Been trying to get my hands on it.
2. Wolf Parade: Personally, I would bump this up to number 1 (even though I like Sufjan). It was just that good.
1. Sufjan Stevens: See number 2.

That wasn't so bad. I got about half. [Checks to see if penis is intact.] Damnit, I only have half a wang now. Grr. I mean, nurr.

La Creme:

It's true, that's why Liquid Tension Experiment happened. And they still did fucking "Hourglass". GAY.

I can't really do 20, but the 5 I've loved the most this year are:

Eels - Blinking Lights & Other Revelations
The Sugarplastic - Will
General Patton VS. The X-ecutioners - Joint Special Operations Task Force
The Bad Plus - Suspicious Activity?
Fantomas - Suspended Animation

Pretty much in that order.

KharBevNor:
I've been downloading some shit I've missed and now I have a definite top 10:

Hector Gilbert:
Jeph's number one is my number one :)

Rizzo:
Khar you reprobate, give me Scum.
I totally disagree with Jeph's list but... I don't like indie so I probably have no right to comment. For me there have only been 7 albums worthy of mention this year;

Baitercell and Shumaker-The Wall Of Bass Technique
Excellent beats with NZ's premier hip hop artists doing guest vocals. Not all that hiphop when you actually listen to it.

The Chemical Brothers-Push The Button
Not their best but better than most of the garbage released this year.

Comeback Kid-Wake The Dead
Best hardcore that isn't Ramallah.

The Mercy Cage-Scree:Transmissions
I can't get enough of the NZ underground. This band fucking kills it.

NIN-With Teeth
Much more accesable than a few of their previous albums. I liked it. A Lot.

Queens of The Stoneage-Lullabies to Paralyse
Not as good as their previous album but still better than most.

Ramallah-Kill A Celebrity
This band kills it. Everything. They own your face. Talented, brutal and unafraid to confront the issues facing modern society. If you're into heavy music then get this album.

EDIT:Cancel that Khar, found their website. Leeching tracks right now.
