To Mac users: what Web browser do you prefer to use? I keep wavering between Safari and Firefox. I like Firefox's features, like Extensions and RSS bookmarks, but Safari is more lightweight and I like the way it renders pages better (it might seem like it doesn't matter since they're both based on quality rendering engines but there are subtle differences). What do you think?

I prefer Safari.  Camino would be nice if it was a little faster and organized tabs the way Safari does.  And honestly, the main reason I don't use Firefox is that it doesn't use the Mac OS widgets for buttons and pull-down menus.

Safari. I switched from IE when I upgraded to OSX, and haven't looked back. 95% of the sites I go to work and display properly (damn you Websnark) and I don't get pop-ups. I haven't tried Firefox yet, primarily because my Mac is 6 years old and by no means meets the recommended speed req. I'll probably give it a go on the merry-go-round when I save up enough to get a new Mac.

Why must Omniweb be slow? Why?

/me sadly goes back to his nightly build of safari

<edit> I know why it's slow, actually, and I sympathize with Omni. The above question is a rhetorical expression of my web browsing anguish ;) </edit>

i use safari. i got my first mac a few months ago... before that i used firefox on my pc. firefox is okay, but it doesn't really do anything that i need that safari doesn't do. so safari it is. ^_^

I used to use Firefox on my relatively old ibook, before it broke. I'd never really given safari a try, but just used firefox because it's what I used on my PC before i got it.

i prefered firefox before 1.5, in spite of the noticeably slower loading time, mostly because of the type-ahead-find feature and the adblock extention. 1.5, though, seems buggy, goes to the bottom of the page when the space bar is hit rather than paging down, and still takes a long time to load. granted, i use a g3 tower, so slow load times are more significant. so it's all about safari.

I use lynx in a terminal window you insensitive clod.

Firefox, though the incompatability of the Ad-Block extension and Flash 8 and the huge memory leak in FF are getting to me.

rather than create a poll that is really just a popularity contest, you should just have an organized topic on the features of each or soemthing.
