Comic Discussion > QUESTIONABLE CONTENT
The Ask Jeph thread
kokeyjoe:
Hey Jeph,
Have you ever thought about using your growing status as an internet celebrity of sorts as a way to start working on getting your music better known? I've listened to a few of your songs ("Unicorns Will Kill Your Children," etc.) and I think you could really get noticed, with the right amount of production quality... and by that I mean a real drummer instead of a drum machine, etc. Granted, it seems a little unfair to the comic to have an album with a sticker on it saying, "From the Creator of Teh Intarwebz's 'Questionable Content!'" ... but it could be advantageous, as well.
Either way, keep giving us random music. It's fun stuff.

Do you like Beck?

Ages ago you said you knew where the strip was going and you had an ending planned. Since then I think you said somewhere that this is no longer the case. Since it no longer applies can you tell us (or hint at) what your original ending was like?
--- End quote ---
Nope. Might still happen, just a bit differently than I had anticipated. I really don't know for sure anymore though.
--- Quote from: saintoflevelheadedlovers on 03 Nov 2006, 23:54 ---Two questions:
1) Would you really kill the Weekly Comic Talk forum? And if you would/will could you suggest some other way for me stimulate myself in the morning in order to wake up enough to endure the cubicle-hell that is my office bitch job?
2) What's the weirdest or most disturbing dream you've ever had?
(okay, I guess that's technically three)
--- End quote ---
1) Maybe. I hear there's porn on these here inter-nets.
2) Moose.
--- Quote from: Ephphatha on 04 Nov 2006, 11:30 ---Very stupid question coming up.
Coffee or Tea?
And a less stupid extension, what's you're favourite type of x? (x being the answer to question 1)
--- End quote ---
Both. Barry's and Sumatran beans.

so far you are the ONLY OTHER CARTOONIST I've seen doing a full-color webcomic every weekday. There are teams, sure, but very few individuals. I've been going at it for a two and a half months now, and hope to keep this up for years to come. I have a day job, too, but am looking for a way to wrest money from my creative efforts. Any thoughts?
The strip is here:

Love your work, brother. Just discovered you, but bet your bippy I'll be checking you every day.

I'm getting a 404 error unless I add "www." to the URL. Art's interesting, you should work on cleaning up your linework a bit. It'll look a lot more professional. I dig the Rolling Stones joke!

And have you ever read or watched anything so emotionally wrenching that it affected your thought process?
--- End quote ---
Yes it would. And yes I have.
--- Quote from: Somethingfake on 15 Nov 2006, 01:43 ---Ever heard/watched something called red dwarf?
If so, whats your thoughts on it?
--- End quote ---
Heard of it, haven't watched it.

Where are the other male characters? Hibernating?
If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
If you could change one thing about the weather, what would you do?
What's the deal with Hanners? Come to think of it, what's the deal with Penelope? I don't expect you to say anything except "that's a secret", but I am asking these questions anyway.
Is it hard to read moving text?

1. Girls r more fun 2 draw.
2. Killer tree.
3. More snow plz.
4. What's the deal with airline food, anyway? [/seinfeld]
5. Not if you're patient.
--- Quote from: jackmulligan on 29 Nov 2006, 00:52 ---As the strip numbers grow larger and larger, do you think that would prevent new readers from jumping in the strip?
And on a related question, have you ever considered using a chapter format? (a la Scary-Go-Round or Sam And Fuzzy?
--- End quote ---
Probably no on the chapters, but I should get off my ass and do a "reader guide" sometime soon.
--- Quote from: CaptainLorax on 01 Dec 2006, 10:09 ---have you ever thought about writing a tv show pilot?

No.

I already have, basically. My LiveJournal is in the top 25 most read LJs ever, apparently, and it consists mostly of posts about my music. If I ever feel like really punishing myself I'll find a drummer and record a "proper" album. We'll see.

Dear Jeph,
If I'm on a ship at sea, and it's Good Friday, and my last chance to have Penance, and the pastor suddenly dies, but then the boat crosses the international date line. Would I have sinned?
