I might see some quasi local band (They're actually located in Springfield, Missouri), Speakeasy, depending on the cash I have when they come here.

Local metalcore band Gascoigne on the 21st.

Not a big fan of metalcore but their mosh pits are insanely fun.

Oasis in March. Most of the good local bands have gone on tour, and it's hard to find a concert here that isn't mostly country, folk, or classical, and they just aren't my thing.

I think I'll be going to see Metric, but that's not until march. It makes me sad to think that it'll be months before I go to a show.

Well, I'm seeing Stars in Vancouver in early Febuary, and nothing planned before that, since unfortunately I can't get into most of the good concerts yet.

Might be going to a local metal festival tomorrow featuring 3 mediocre bands, one insanely funny grindcore band and Momentum, a really great band (Pimping them out in the forced listening thread if you're interested). But then again I might just skip the whole thing cause my date (girls like metal too) is kinda torn between this and some other thingamabob.

You're fucking lucky up in the north. Down south pretty much all we get is metalcore and the occasional second tier Gothenburg act.

You got Blood Island Raiders/Scissorfight/Orange Goblin at Christmas!

Manchester is a bit rubbish at times for gigs. Lots of bands go for Liverpool and Leeds over Manchester. Nottingham and Sheffield have it good though.

I didn't. I live on the Isle of Wight.

Though I have met members of Orange Goblin. Or former members. I can't really remember. Everyone was very drunk, etc. I do remember that we all agreed that Eyehategod were 'fuckin' awesome'.

Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger tonight.

Well the opening acts were worthless so i'm not going to mention them, but ska dancing with my friend Alexandra for RBF was rad, and Goldfinger just put on an awesome set.

To be honest, I didn't really get into music until about a year ago, and even then, most of those bands don't still tour (Led Zeppelin, Rush, Black Sabbath in any meaningful form, etc.), and G3 was in Japan this year. I missed Gigantour (which, among others, included Megadeth, Dream Theater, Symphony X, and Nevermore), and that really pissed me off, because they skipped over the Bay Area ENTIRELY.

First one will be Soulfly on the 04th of Feb. I don't really like Soulfly, but my mates do. I go to a lot of shows for pretty much this reason. Consolation is, Skindred are supposed to be supporting, so I will be moshing out to some hardcore Reggae Metal action. Jah.

Nice. I'm checking out the B & S/New Pornographers show in a month or so.

And I saw Hilary Duff on Saturday. It was painful. And very expensive. The only good part were the pictures of a famous local Elvis impersonator that I took incognito while he was harassing people in the crowd.
