I would loooooove to go, since I pray to see Andrew Bird live someday and it would be great to catch him with a bunch of other great acts too.

It's a long reach, though; it's not exactly easy for me to get to Tennessee.

Currently confirmed for Wacken Open Air:

Aborted
Amon Amarth
Die Apocalyptischen Reiter
Atheist
Bloodthorn
Born From Pain
Cannibal Corpse
Celtic Frost
Children Of Bodom
Ektomorf
Emperor
End Of Green
Finntroll
Gamma Ray
In Extremo
Korpiklaani
Metal Inquisitor
Ministry
Nevermore
Orphaned Land

And that's about a quarter of the eventual line-up

Exclusive festival for both Ministry and Celtic Frost.

I have my tickets.

That's funny, because of the ones I've heard of on that list, Cannibal Corpse is my least favorite. I'd still go for Atheist and Nevermore.

THat second festival looks great. FINNTROLLLLLLL

The first one though, it looks fairly craptastic; There's 3 bands that I wouldn't MIND seeing (Elvis Costello! Bela Fleck! FTW) but really, nothing amazing.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

oh man, my knowledge of extreme metal is absolutely shocking. half of those bands i've never even heard of, but i'll definitely download some mp3's or something today. even so, i love cannibal corpse like a family member, and i'd literally chew off an arm to go see them. amon amarth i like a lot, too.

It may be lacking, but the drive for the knowledge of metal is still there. RIDE WITH THE VALKYRIES, SONNY.

that was realyl nerdy.

Me and my friends are considering going on a road trip this summer and this would be on the way, so we've added it to the stops.

Cannibal Corpse isn't even goregrind, it's just lazy, not particularly talented DM with constantly disgusting lyrics. I mean, I'm not one to shy away from violence in lyrics, but songs about pedophiles raping children and skinning them alive... you have to drawn the line somewhere. It's just sick.

Well, yes, it's bad music but it is kinda funny. I would totally go see them if they ever came anywhere near me. Also, not all of it is bad, check out Hammer Smashed Face. It's actually a good song.

yeah
cannibal corpse is, and always has been death metal, plain and simple.
thier newest album has some pretty decent songwriting and guitar work though.
i do agree with you on the lyrics part... i just ignore them mostly.
