Never said that any of them had to be from montreal, he brushed the surfae of the montreal scene and is just now looking for good quality canadian stuff

Man, I can't believe no one has mentioned Skinny Puppy(or any of the offshoot bands for that matter).  

In a similar, if stranger vein, try Prospero, Antigen Shift, Iszoloscope, vo1d, and for the darker dance party person in you, Ayria.

Of course, there's also the many Bill Leeb/Rhys Fulber and friends bands as well.  Front Line Assembly, Delerium, Conjure One, Noise Unit, and Decree.
