Yeah, I guess The OC might be lame.  But getting their music heard by millions of people is cool.

The band is called Electric President and the track that is going to be played is called Grand Machine No 12.

I like them.  But my word isn't law.

I have a perminent beef with the OC. It lets silly people who watch that show get exposed to Spoon, Atom and his Package, Beulah AND The Album Leaf. I know I'm being all "indie bands should stay indie so I can sound cool when I'm talking about them"-ish (not my intention, I'm not that much of a jerk, I swear), but keeping bands as your own and your friends' "your little band" is sometimes nice.

The good side is the bands do get the much needed exposure so they can pay their rent and continue making music. Also diversifies the mainstream.

But still.....

Yeah, these people I know were offered $50,000 to contribute a song to the OC that they had already recorded.  FIFTY GRAND!  But they turned it down.
