I do agree with the "go historical" bit. I think it's better to continually forcefully introduce a handful of "classic" bands that already have quite a chunk of work, rather than a whole bunch of new bands whom may just have like an album or so under their belts.

Our opinions are right, and his are wrong. Is it really that hard a concept? Plus, you should totally find some insane prog, you should definitely "put on the most technically difficult song, and skip directly to the solo part" as outlined here on rule 6.
