--- Quote from: Gryff ---Why? Steven Malkmus is King of all that is indie.
…Or at least he would be if he wasn't so damned lazy.

Also, hey, a post that not only knocks Pavement, but defends Dave Matthews. Congratulations, that's a stunner.

Defends his earlier work.

PS: Pavement is not the end all of indy rock. I got more of a thrill from Pulp.

As much as I love Turn on the Bright Lights (I listened to it every night for a whole year I think), if you want to suck somebody in your musical realm again it doesn't really make a lot of sense to introduce them to bands whom don't have much material or influence. It's more worthwhile to introduce them to "big names" whom could umbrella a bunch of styles more or had more bands influenced by them.

TrueNeutral:
How about starting him on some grunge, and moving further into indie as you go? Some Pearl Jam will probably go over well to someone who likes Creed.

Misereatur:
I'm gonna go with TrueNeutral, Pearl Jam would be great to get him out Creed and into good music.

TrueNeutral:
Succes story: It worked to get me out of Nickelback and into good music.

And really, Nickelback is even worse than Creed.
