GRAD SONGS WHAUGHUAHGH
Houdinimachine:
Well, I graduated the year Good Riddance came out so there was no escaping it. The only other option was the Sunscreen song. *shudder*
Joseph:
I love how 2 out of the 5 replies refered to Good Ridance by the wrong name... It always makes me smile when people think it's a happy type song. Way to be music snobs!
Anyway, I wouldn't suggest some indie craziness along the lines of Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl, but you have to have support on your choice, I'm guessing? I'd say go with classics from the likes of Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, or Simon and Garfunkel then. They should all have plenty of songs that'd be suitable.
Kai:
or Cattle Decapitation. That would make great graduation music. I mean, Bukakke Tsunami? Very sentimental shit.
Johnny C:
If my class goes with "Good Riddance" I'll have to punch every fucking one of them in the face, that's how mad the song makes me.
I think Springsteen and Garfunkel are good suggestions. Keep them coming, guys; this represents about five minutes of my life that I want to not suck!
c1utch:
my class (also graduating come june) apparently had three people choose three choices at the beginning of the year.
Postal Service - Such Great Heights
Oasis - Wonderwall
Damien Rice - Cannonball
And as the "video yearbook" already has the postal service, I guess we know which will win.
Anyway, yeah, grateful good riddance wasn't mentioned, and i guess our choices arn't so bad. I'd go for Oasis just because Such Great Heights doesn't fit at all.
Seems like there are better Postal Service songs (Nothing Better maybe?) and Oasis songs (Don't Look Back In Anger maybe?) to represent that sentiment. Damien Rice, well no, thats a love song.
