what are the best albums for summer?
I think...
Apples In Stereo - Fun Trick Noisemaker
Wilco - Summer Teeth
Black Moth Super Rainbow - Dandelion Gum
Iron & Wine - The Creek Drank The Cradle
The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
Meat Puppets - Up On The Sun
Flying Canyon - Flying Canyon
Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People
Jim O'Rourke - Bad Timing
Loose Fur - Loose Fur
Nirvana - MTV Unplugged In New York
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones
Sublime - Second Hand Smoke
-
The self-titled BSS album is way better for summer.
EDIT: Oh, also, every Caribou/Manitoba release, and also The Acorn's Glory Hope Mountain.
-
Eh, I think I'd have to agree with Beast, here. "Pacific Theme?" I don't know why, but their self-titled is not my favorite. I sort of feel like You Forgot It In People is more engaging and dynamic.
I'm going to suggest:
Pinback - Summer In Abbadon
The Clash - London Calling
Braid - Frame & Canvas
Cap'n Jazz - Analphabetopolothology
Archers of Loaf - Icky Mettle
Bear vs. Shark - Terrorhawk
and Built to Spill - Keep It Like a Secret
-
Beulah - The Coast is Never Clear
Mojave 3 - Puzzles Like You
Two perfect summer albums right there.
-
Mountains In The Sky - Accipio
-
Weezer - Weezer (blue album)
Television - Marquee Moon
Velvet Underground - Loaded OR Velvet Underground w/ Nico
(maybe the latter two only if you live in New York)
-
Fu Manchu.
-
totally agree on the 'Dandelion Gum'
when the entirety of the lyrics for the opening track of an album are "children playing in a field" repeated over and over; you know it's summer time.
oh holy shit and the song "Sun Lips"
-
Asobi Seksu's Citrus is very summery.
Like, japanophilic Beach Boys with accordions speaking in moon-man language.
But maybe it's just for Southern California residents.

There's a huge difference between summer albums for the day and for the night though.
-
Mountains In The Sky - Accipio
The thread may as well of ended right here. This album is perfect.
-
There's a huge difference between summer albums for the day and for the night though.
Because when it comes to summer albums for the night you only need one album:
Two if you like your jazz sung by old guys who sound slightly drunk and play beautiful, wistfully melancholic trombone solos:
-
Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet- Savvy Show Stoppers
Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet- Dim the Lights, Chill the Ham
Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet- Sport Fishin'
See a trend?
Also, over the past summer I listened to a bunch of DeSoto records stuff, namely-
Jawbox- For Your Own Special Sweetheart
Shiner- The Egg
The Dismemberment Plan- Emergency and I
I also blasted Vitreous Humor's Posthumous, some of the songs on that album can hold their own with other summerish pop-punk, without actually being summerish pop-punk.
-
Beulah - The Coast is Never Clear
When Your Heartstrings Break was basically the first album that came to mind.
I kind of associate these albums with summer:
Source Tags and Codes - Trail of Dead
Painful - Yo La Tengo
CYHSY - s/t
Hearts of Oak - Ted Leo/Rx
Mclusky Do Dallas - Mclusky
Power, Corruption, Lies - New Order
Kick out the Jams - MC5
-
@dl: I'll see yr Painful and Kick Out the Jams and raise you an Electr-O-Pura and Back in the U.S.A..
God, Back in the USA. I remember putting it on right after I got back in the USA, man
Also, I gotta say John Barleycorn Must Die and Revolver. Traffic were funky, and who were those other guys? I think they were pretty good!
-
How could I forget Evil Empire?
By being a fucking idiot, of course.
I mean, there's only so many times you can hear an album on the way to summer camp before it *becomes* summer. Ditto Collective Soul's Nervous Breakdown, for better or worse. :/
-
The 13th Floor Elevators-Easter Everywhere. I mean goddamn. It's just so, I dunno, free.
The Seldom Scene-Act 1. For the open road and a trip the mountains. Doesn't have their cover of "Baby Blue," but it does have "City of New Orleans." Also in this category: At Folsom Prison-Johnny Cash.
Not sure about Neil Young. Maybe Everyone Knows this is Nowhere. Probably not Rust Never Sleeps or Live Rust.
Hard to tease out what's just mental association sometimes--for instance, I associate the Pop Group and the Electric Prunes with summer because I first heard them on a road trip to Chicago between freshman and sophomore years. I'm not sure they are particularly 'summery'.
And how the hell could I forget Big Star: No 1 Record? I mean, sure, the album mostly occurs to me because I love the "Ballad of El Goodo" and find it a very summery song, but oh well, maybe I'm just a big star poseur since I don't even own the album yet. I don't care. Summer essentials.
-
Fu Manchu.
There's nothing better than driving around during summer blasting King of the Road out of the stereo. Nothing.
-
Any Smash Mouth album. Also, Traveling Wilburys Volume 1.
-
Fu Manchu.
There's nothing better than driving around during summer blasting King of the Road out of the stereo. Nothing.
But y're not talking about Roger Miller :?
-
Vampire Weekend - s/t
-
I hugely agree with the B52s, Beat Happening, Big Star, Fu Manchu and MC5. And for the MC5 I'd take Back In The USA for the days and Kick Our The Jams for the hottest nights. But my ultimate summer album and the one which makes me know it's summer since I get a huge urge to play it immediately is:
-
Maybe it's just me, but nothing says summer like driving with the windows down through open country while listening to Surfer Rosa.
-
I'd say Surfer Rosa is most definitely a summer album. In fact, I rarely listen to the Pixies outside of that month.
-
Vampire Weekend - s/t
hell yes.
Also, see Graceland, Abbey Road, Is This It?
-
totally agree on the 'Dandelion Gum'
when the entirety of the lyrics for the opening track of an album are "children playing in a field" repeated over and over; you know it's summer time.
oh holy shit and the song "Sun Lips"
Most definitely.... just received the LP in the mail a couple days ago. The same can be said for their album with The Octopus Project "The House of Apples & Eyeballs"... great record.
other summer albums
MIA- Arular
Tribe Called Quest- Low End Theory
Four Tet- Everythings Ecstatic
RJD2- Deadringer
Modest Mouse- Lonesome Crowded West
-
Lexington- RJD2 says late fall to me, it's kind of heavy, if not always in beat, then in tone.
Also, when is it going to be hot enough here for me to listen to Raising Hell in the car?
:-D - Seriously, weather, WHAT THE HELL?
-
I'd say Surfer Rosa is most definitely a summer album. In fact, I rarely listen to the Pixies outside of that month.
"that month"? :(
-
Maybe it's just me, but nothing says summer like driving with the windows down through open country while listening to Surfer Rosa.
I was thinking that, too.
-
(http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0007LPM78.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg)
-
"that month"? :(
Hey, I'd been up for about two days at that point. Cut me some slack. Also, I live in the north of England, if you get one month of summery weather you count yourself lucky around here.
-
Yeah, because that's only the north that that weather applies to. I prefer cold weather anyway.
Albums for summer days:
Blur - Parklife
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Pink Floyd - PULSE
Weezer - Weezer (blue)
Tupac - Greatest Hits
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Albums for summer nights:
Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
The Verve - Urban Hymns
-
On average the south is warmer actually, just like Scotland's colder again. I used to agree with you about preferring the colder weather but I've found myself longing for the summer this winter.
But I didn't come in here just to debate the British weather. The other thing that summer always makes me want to listen to is large amounts of catchy punk. So when summer comes I will be dusting off:

-
Bear vs. Shark - Terrorhawk
I just associate Bear vs. Shark with extreme anger. At least, that's mostly when I listen to them for some reason.
Day:
Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Beck - Sea Change
Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
Maxïmo Park - A Certain Trigger
MSTRKRFT - The Looks
Ratatat - Classics
Simian Mobile Disco - Attack Decay Sustain Release
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - Hearts of Oak or Shake The Sheets
Tokyo Police Club - A Lesson In Crime
We Are Scientists - With Love And Squalor
Night:
Radiohead - Hail To The Thief
Yppah - You Are Beautiful At All Times
Some artists I listen to during summer disregarding albums:
Trail of Dead
Blur
Elliott Smith
Metric
Minus The Bear
Muse
Queens of the Stone Age
The Streets
The Strokes
!!!
-
carousel waltz - the robot ate me
figure 8 - elliott
feels - animal collective
and strictly night: it's a wonderful life - sparkleyhorse
-
I find myself listening to a lot of ska during the summer. This past one, it was mostly:
Dance Hall Crashers - The Old Record
the Ska Sucks compilation
along with any Five Iron Frenzy
Alright Still by Lily Allen was also played a lot
Then there was the tandem of Architecture in Helsinki and Yacht after I saw them.
-
Agalloch - Ashes Against the Grain
It helps for it to be raining, but I associate the mountains with summer, as that is when I go up there most frequently, and the music seems very mountainy, I think at least some of the music was written on Mount Hood.
-
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/07/The_Cure_-_Pornography.jpg)
-
DEFINITELY Beulah's When Your Heartstrings Break
and also Return to the Sea by Islands.
The Unicorns work too I guess!

The self-titled BSS album is way better for summer.
I came into this thread only to say that, but I was sadly beaten down in the very first reply. Damn you, Johnny.
Also, o/ Johnny.
(am I the only one who thinks that the end of "Hotel" [start at 3:41] sounds like they could do some amazing funk?)
-
I'll agree with you guys, BSS's self-titled is a perfect summer album, but so is You Forgot It In People.
-
Modest Mouse- Lonesome Crowded West
Can you explain this to me, I find Modest Mouse more of a winter/autumn band.
More Albums:
Miracle Fortress - 5 Roses
Band of Horses - Everything All the Time
The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin
all most all Pinback
-
when the sun comes out it is queens of the stone age time
-
Modest Mouse- Lonesome Crowded West
Can you explain this to me, I find Modest Mouse more of a winter/autumn band.
i'd like to take a stab at this, if i may. naturally, using anecdotal evidence from my own life which may not apply to Lexington.
i'll listen to Modest Mouse pretty much any time of year...but i tend to associate them the most with the summer because the summer is when i usually fry on mushrooms because it's so much nicer to be outside since it's not raining or cold. And, naturally, i listen to Modest Mouse alot when i'm on mushrooms because it makes alot more sense that way.
so when i think of Modest Mouse, i inevitabley think of the summer time.
-
Anyone suggesting warm fuzzy stoner RAWK is SO DOING IT RIGHT!!!
In that vein, I think Torche and The Sword really deserve mention in that respect.
-
BIGELF
-
Anyone suggesting warm fuzzy stoner RAWK is SO DOING IT RIGHT!!!
Fucking BORIS.
I don't care who rags me for this, but Californication is an excellent album for any occasion but it really shines as a summer album.
The Allman Brothers pretty much didn't do anything BUT summer music, and I URGE you people to listen to Gringo Lingo by the Texas Tornados. You can't go wrong with Doug Sahm and Flaco Jimenez. HEY BABY QUE PASO? I THOUGHT I WAS YOUR ONLY VATO!
-
THIS.

Or:
You can say what you want about Bruce, but you'd be hard pressed to find another pair of albums that so completely and succinctly encapsulates summer, youth, freedom, yearning for escape, the open road, and pure, raw joy.
-
Oh shit, I forgot Unida.
Black Woman is a ridiculously awesome song for summer.
-
Titan = Summer Nights
-
(http://files.list.co.uk/images/2007/09/20/georgie-james-lp.jpg)
Yes, yes and more yes. Great shout.
My vote would go to any Nada Surf.
-
BIGELF
Holy shit I genuinely thought I was the only person in the world who had heard of this band. I have thought that for a matter of years to tell the truth.
-
MIA- Arular
Modest Mouse- Lonesome Crowded West
I was totally going to suggest both of these, nice. Perfect for those days when it's so hot you feel like you're gonna melt.
Also:
R.E.M. - Reveal (probably one of their worst albums but totally appropriate for lazy summer days)
Björk - Debut
Fountains of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers, particularly the first 9 songs which would make a fucking fantastic EP
-
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5b/Meatpuppetsii.jpg)
-
(http://johngushue.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/talking_heads_remain_in_light_cover_art.JPG)
-
Remain In Light
CLOSE! But no. Talking Heads '77 is so much more free and open and warm and summery.

All perfect summer albums.
-
*born to run*
How did I not think of that?
Lummer: Clutch? I don't really see them being as appropriate for summer as Born to Run, but they fit the fuzzy stoner rock.
The White EP by Agalloch has some summery parts, and I am not saying that merely due to the constant references to Summerisle.
-
Bah, Clutch fit everything - at least according to last.fm's 'similar artists':
Looking for hardcore? There they are!
Looking for heavy metal? There they are!
Looking for stoner rock? There th-- OH GODDAMN IT, GO AWAY CLUTCH. I'VE ALREADY GOT YOUR ALBUMS.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if they got labelled nu-metal for that one "careful with that mic" track, but I have a low estimate of human intelligence.
And no, you don't have enough of their albums.
-
The Eagles of Death Metal-Peace Love Death Metal.
(also has a great album cover).
-
Spit On A Stranger EP by Pavement. Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is definitely worth mentioning, if it hasn't already.
-
Heather Alexander - Midsummer
Try it, you'll like it.
http://www.heatherlands.com/ (http://www.heatherlands.com/)
-
hail to the thief if only because it brings on strong memories of heat induced insomnia during a holiday in spain.
also peter bjorn and john - writers block
-
This:
Gorgeous, hopeful, happy music. Perfect for long drives on warm summer days with the windows down.
-
(FIRST PICTURE OF THE BOSS)
He's so goddamn handsome..
-
I pulled out Last Splash by the Breeders today and I thought it was probably the perfect summer album. ALSO: Run DMC's Raising Hell was pretty much the soundtrack to my entire last summer.
-
(FIRST PICTURE OF THE BOSS)
He's so goddamn handsome..
He is also around 59.
-
SKYYYYNAAAARRRD!
No, but seriously, this:
-
I'd have suggested Citrus, but someone already did.
What about Stars- Set Yourself On Fire? I've always thought of that album as summery.
-
Analogik's Soens Folk is a really great summer album that i just sort of rediscovered.
it's just so upbeat; you can't help but nod your head and tap your feet.
-
Oh oh oh! Bang Bang Rock and Roll by Art Brut!
And, uh, Hunky Dory by Bowie
-
What about Stars- Set Yourself On Fire? I've always thought of that album as summery.
I'd say it's a fall album, if anything. But I think summer and fall albums could have a large overlap.
-
Odelay
Guero is definitely more of a summer album than Odelay
-
oblig Summer Sun post
it's a really good album to listen to to get over a bad hangover on a beautiful day
i think
i don't really remember any beautiful days right now
-
I have a feeling that Real Emotional Trash is going to be my summer album this year.
Also anything by Architecture in Helsinki is great for a sunny summer day.
-
Also I agreed with Smashmouth
Difficulty: they only have two albums worth listening to.
-
Odelay
Guero is definitely more of a summer album than Odelay
I don't have that one, but Odelay! is definitely a summer album, in my opinion. "Hotwax" makes me think of rolling around with friends and getting into all sorts of shenanigans.
-
I have a feeling that Real Emotional Trash is going to be my summer album this year.
It is a good summer album, trust me. I got to spend the last moments of our strange elongated summer with it.
-
Wanted to say "Clap your hands say yeah" - got beaten to it
The same with "The soft bulletin"
BSS anyone  (I'd second the notion that the s/t-album is a little more summer-like than You forgot it...).
Then the Talking Heads --> I'd prefer their live-output (esp. disc two of the reissued "The name of the band is Talking Heads")
Malajube "Trompe l'oeil" is one of my summer-favourites, as is "EP" by the Fiery Furnaces. They were joined last year by Apostle of Hustle's "National anthem of nowhere" and will be most probably this year by Los Campesino's "Hold on now, youngster", while "Moon Safari" by Air is still tops for a summer-evening-chill-out.
-
Eiffel 65's Europop.
Commence flaming.
-
"OMGWTF YOUR DUMB"
That should take care of it.
I think Sing Along with the Acid House Kings is pretty dang summery.
-
The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls in America.
I'd imagine this would be an awesome record to lounge around with some friends and light up to.
-
well, while we're on the subject of lighting up:
Holy Fuck
-
On the subject of lighting up, talk to onewheel. He hath given me these:
Mocassin
Akhmed
Leech
Mammatus
Dead Meadow
Psychedelic Avengers
and tons of other crazy awesome shit.
-
Ahkmed are pretty awesome live.
-
Albums?
-
On the subject of lighting up, talk to onewheel. He hath given me these:
Mocassin
Akhmed
Leech
Mammatus
Dead Meadow
Psychedelic Avengers
and tons of other crazy awesome shit.
The Psychedelic Avengers just plain rock, with or without pot.
-
All of those bands fucking rock regardless, but it gets that much better, which is why I consider them good albums to light up to. Especially Leech and Moccassin. Me and my friends will be stoned out of our asses, playing video games, with the music on shuffle. Leech will come on, and everyone stops shooting and just goes "HOLY SHIT!" and shivers go up my spine.
We have also concluded that The Stolen View was meant to be the soundtrack for any post-apocalyptic zombie movie ever.
On the subject of lighting up albums:
Baroness
Mastodon
Bardo Pond
Soulwax - Most of the Remixes
There is also a thread floating around out there titled "recommend me stoner/doom" that I started and onewheel heavily contributed to.
-
In summary, check out soundweave.blogspot.com. Try some of the music out and buy it if you like it.
-
The standing list on this thread needs more Kyuss and Colour Haze.
Actually this thread has needed Kyuss from the beginning. Kyuss make the sound of a 100-foot bass amp made out of stone in the middle of the desert at sunset. I think someone mentioned QOTSA, they're pretty good at being awesome summer music ... Kyuss is why.
-
I never figured Kyuss as summer-y. Kyuss is fucking awesome all year round.
-
Kyuss is roughly equivalent to Ayers Rock, which is about as summery as you can get.
-
Summer is about the only time I can listen to stuff like The Beatles or The Kinks...most of the time, I listen to winter music. Summer kind of grates against most of my music collection...
But then, it's also a good excuse to dig out old Lovin' Spoonful best ofs...
-
Has anyone mentioned Pet Sounds yet?
-
No, because we're not teenage girls from the 60's.
-
Khar's fooling himself. We actually are.
-
No, because we're not teenage girls from the 60's.
Speak for yourself.
Anyway - Pet Sounds is an awesome summer album. It gets a tad alternative towards the end, but aside from that it's sun-soaked pop masterpieces all the way.
-
I truly do wish they all could be California girls.
-
But the Ukraine girls really knock me out!
-
AND GEORGIA'S ALWAYS ON MY MI-MI-MI-MI-MI-MI-MI-MI-MIIIIIIND
-
Johnny Cash's American Recordings (especially 3+5)
-
AND GEORGIA'S ALWAYS ON MY MI-MI-MI-MI-MI-MI-MI-MI-MIIIIIIND
Hey, I tell you what, country is great for summertime. 'Georgia On My Mind' by Willie Nelson? Lovely tune.
-
Bring this back.
-
....there's already a thread for this. Right below this one in fact.
-
....there's already a thread for this. Right below this one in fact.
=( People should recycle
-
I want to know why nobody has mentioned Dick Dale or the Ventures until now.
-
Hur hur dick hur.
-
My last post made this point, but in lieu of my most recent Mediafire thread post, it bears repeating.
Queens of the Stone Age are fucking ace. In particular, they are fucking ace for three things more than anything else: summer, smoking, and sex.
Hang out with your girlfriends/boyfriends, get high, and fuck like bunnies all summer. I guarantee you QOTSA will make it all feel right.
-
You seem to have said Queens of the Stone Age when you meant to say Kyuss. There is no better music for those kind of activities.
-
So, this is now the official summer thread then?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=zn50pW2zb44 (http://youtube.com/watch?v=zn50pW2zb44)
Everything they put out.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=njsKBNmakw0 (http://youtube.com/watch?v=njsKBNmakw0)
Perfect for driving around.
-
Colour Haze has been mentioned, in at least one of these threads. With much agreement. But I had not heard that song before, good show, sir.
-
Perfect for driving around.
Fu Manchu put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
As for summer albums..since the weather's gotten warm, I find myself turning to the Skatalites a lot for some reason. Mostly that "Foundation Ska" compilation.
-
You seem to have said Queens of the Stone Age when you meant to say ELECTRIC WIZARD.
There we go.
-
Slap guitar would fit, I think. Not really into that kind of music, though, so I don't know albums or artists (other than Andy McKee).
-
You seem to have said Queens of the Stone Age when you meant to say ELECTRIC WIZARD.
Man, Electric Wizard are awesome, but they aren't summery, or particularly sexy.
-
Electric Wizard definitely isn't summerish for me, or at least doesn't give me more of a summer feeling than Kyuss. Summer is such a great time for stoner rock, I'm actually looking forward to it just so I can play Welcome to Sky Valley extremely loud on the late afternoon. Electric Wizard's vocals are just not as warm and fuzzy as Garcia's.
Brant Bjork's solo career is also perfect for summers. It's very easy to listen to and it's desert rock, Jalamanta should definitely not be excluded from a topic like this. When it comes to summer nights Miles Davis is the man, especially his album Sketches Of Spain.
Any Velvet Underground album will also do, aswell as early (more bluessy) Tom Waits.
Whoops forgot about Neil Young's On The Beach.
-
Tinariwen
-
Y'all are crazy, Electric Wizard is definitely summertime music.
Also: Acid bath.
-
ZZ goddamn Top
-
Tinariwen
Give that man a medal and a handjob.
-
Today was a sunny day. This is music for sunny days.
Brakes - Beatific Visions
Lucksmiths - First Tape
-
someone has probably said this, buttttttttt:
andrew bird!
he's such a sundressy, ice creamy, sun glassy sort of fellow.
yeah.
go ahead and yell at me for being a teenage girl now.
-
Dude, there is nothing wrong with Andrew Bird.
I don't know if it's been said already, but I am going to chock up anything by The Dodo's and Annuals' Be He Me. "Brother" is such an awesome way to kick off an album.
-
Andrew Bird is so goddamn good. Never, ever be ashamed to like him.
-
John Martyn's Solid Air is a pretty good album to put on and chill out in summer.
-
my summer doesn't involve "chillin" per se, so my "summer album" will probably be mission of burma's vs
-
Traveling Wilburys
-
Yo La Tengo's Summer Sun is actually the perfect summer album ever.
-
All I've been able to listen to since it came out is "Dirty Versions," the new We Versus the Shark album. It's certainly one of the best noise rock records of the year and it's on a small local label that consistently puts out high quality rock music (Hello Sir Records). Go check out their myspace or whatever and listen to the new stuff as it is awesome.
http://www.myspace.com/weversustheshark
-
Trifonic - Emergence is perfect trip-hoppy laid back summer electronica. It sounds like stoned sunsets on cool August evenings.
-
(http://rocksellout.com/wpcore/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/61jj8gy1yvl_ss500_.jpg)
FTW
Also, the Jackson 5's ABC album is amazing summer music.
-
For unexplained reasons, I get dancier and more ambient as the summer rolls on. Here are some choices:
CTRLer - This is Hardcore
(http://www.ambassador21.com/images/foto/Distro/INV042.jpg)
Ambassador 21 - Justified Thirst for Blood

Meg Lee Chin - Piece and Love (I'll never forgive the populace for not making her high empress of female artists...c'mon, put out another album, it's been eight years already)

Soon as I get my lappy back and I can get to the library, I'm going to Mediafire you guys this one album by a band from here in town called Quiet Hooves. It is good summer music -and- it's home-grown.
-
Common Rider - Last Wave Rockers has to be my favorite summer album ever. Except I lost my copy. And now it's out of print I think. :-(

Second the votes for Citrus and Surfer Rosa...
Also:
Calexico - The Black Light
CSS - Cansei de ser Sexy
Islands - Arm's Way
-
Morrison Hotel and L.A. Woman, when the doors just became a kick-ass blues-rock band with awesome lyrics.
-
Someone must've mentioned Air France already, so I'll just second that. BSS presents Brendan Canning is also pretty excellent for an afternoon in the sun.
-
That reminds me, I don't know shit about the rest of the album it's on, but "Island in the Sun" by Weezer is pretty fucking excellent for summer music. Same goes for "Santeria" by Sublime.
-
"What I Got" is a good one. I don't think it's on the same album, though. I don't know.
