Any artists/creators out there fancy doing a jam strip?

Someone creates the first panel, then we take in turns adding a panel.
These things quickly descend into madness and surreal worlds of nonsense ... and are probably all the better for it!

Anyone interested?

Thats great, thanks Logosmonkey.

PS I visited your comic ... and I have to agree with your premise ... cottonbuds in the ear canal is better than either the physical act of love or jaffacakes!!

Things like this are always loads of fun. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at comicesque/cartoon style drawing - and I'm not good at drawing without a reference of some sort, anyway.

That doesn't matter, however. This idea reminded me of something that I did at another forum I used to go to, before the webcomic that community was based on stopped it's run. They called it an art battle - you and one other person would each pick a character, and take turns drawing comics of your two characters duking it out. For instance, person A would draw a strip showing their charcter launching a fireball at Person B. Person B would show the aftermath of that, and their character's response. After a certain number of strips, the judge would decide who had done the most creative/unique/innovative drawings or had the most creative/unique/innovative ideas, and that person would get to draw the last strip, where their character won the fight.

That sounds like an interesting idea as well. No reason why we can't try both if people fancy it.
Any chance that the forum that art battle was posted on is still accessible?

The one I joined in with before was on MSN Groups (... and sadly the group has long since been deleted) had a mix of writers and artists. The writers added their "panels" by creating a jpeg square and simply filling it with a written paragraph. One inventive soul cropped faces/headshots out of other artists pictures in the story and added speech bubbles for his contribution. It worked quite well.

Hosting. Anyone got an idea where this would be best hosted? We obviously need somewhere that all the contributors can post into with their files. And finally a running order? Who wants to kick us off ... and what order to we follow after that? (alphabetically by screenname?)

Excellent suggestion, tetrahedron ... our account is comicjammers ... and the password is comicjam ...

Who wants to go first?

So far on the "I'm willing" list are:-
logosmonkey
Strangebear
KibBen
Alegis
Justin
MajinTrunkz
tetrahedron
Trunetural
Action Franky
Keith Decent

Anyone got any objections about this being the running order?

Visit the following link:
http://photobucket.com/login.php?link=topmenu
Our login name is comicjammers (all lower case) and the password is comicjam (again all lower case)
Straight away there is an upload image option with a browse button that lets you pick a file from your hard drive. Upload your image and it appears in the album. The album shows the pictures with a number of options. One is a handy URL window. You can copy this URL and paste it as a link directly into the windows of the forum reply form. It show then appear as a link in the forum. (fingers crossed!)

Action Franky and Keith Decent ... I've added you to the list post. Our running order looks like this:

logosmonkey
Strangebear
KibBen
Alegis
Justin
MajinTrunkz
tetrahedron
Trunetural
Action Franky
Keith Decent

So the ball (or rather the Romance Randomizer) is now in KibBen's court!

nope, freeform from the previous strip. It has stalled though, I Kib has gotten busy.. maybe we should institute a 4 day rule or something to keep it running? Or just go completely apeshite and post whenever you want....

Logosmon is right. We need a deadline to get this thing from stalling! 4 Days is just about right I suspect. Its only a panel (I know I drew three, but the basic requirement is you advance the story by at least "one panel")

here is our new running order:-

logosmonkey
Strangebear
KibBen
Alegis
Justin
MajinTrunkz
tetrahedron
Trunetural
Action Franky
Keith Decent
mookers

KidBen, any luck with the panel? Alegis, I would be tempted to push on and continue the story (or do what you want with it in a surreal/non-continuing sort of way!) if nothing appears by monday! It will be years before we publish on demand with lulu at this rate!

No worries ... if the strip stalls for more than 4 days then the next person on the list takes it. If the next person on the list doesn't post it keeps clicking along until we get a contributor who does.

I've resisted commenting so far, but I love the way the story is going ... even though my Robot Love Machine has bitten the dust!
