I read earlier in the thread about a mixtape exchange set up on this forum. I know this doesn't have any relevance to the topic of the thread, but I'm new on this forum and I was wondering how to get in on that.

ANYWAYS THIS IS THE CURRENT TIMELINE
September 1st: Deadline for signing up. Is that too far off?
September 2nd: Partners are given.
October 1st: Crafts should be finished. Is that enough time?
October 15th: Crafts should be sent.

I hope that looks okay to you guys since I'm going away to Alaska this week. So official sign-ups start now; post what types of things you will make or if you'd rather have it be a surprise.

I am not sure that choosing your own partners is the ideal way for this to work? I thought that exchanges are normally "pull the other person from a hat" deals. I mean, if you guys want to do something together instead / as well as the exchange then that's all well and good, but normally these things are random to avoid problems.

Hey, I am not making the rules here, Ally is! I was just suggesting something, I guess. Just ignore me, most other people do!

So anyway, Ally's asked me to look after this while she's away. Hopefully I won't make too much of a kibosh of it. I think the best way for me to "look after it" is basically to do nothing unless one of you guys ask me to clarify something. Sound good?

If any more of you want to pair up then please do so (mutually please, don't just hijack someone) and report back in this thread. You don't have to pair up, I mean, if you'd prefer a surprise partner then by all means just throw your name in the hat and we'll draw random peoples.

I can do a bit of woodworking and sew stuff. (although I dont know how shipping friendly wood stuff is... I guess I will figure it out.

I usually make jewelry (http://tiddleywink.etsy.com) but for some reason I just made a bunch of clothespin dolls. With afros. And fringe skirts. I call them my Girl Groups. Or I'm working a on a new line of neat-o little necklaces using vintage kimono patterns.

The deadlines are recommended. If you miss one, it is up to your partner whether they care or not. I'm not gonna come to your house and stab you if you're a week late or something.
