the best beatles album is revolver guys, this is fact and fact cannot be debated

their self-titled was really good and would probably have taken first place for including the best song they have ever written except it had a lot of pretty unremarkable stuff too. it probably would have worked better had they trimmed it down and made it one disc (record?) instead of two.

I actually saw a Hole album included on the same list as Nirvana.

The only major thing about Hard Day's Night is that the film of the same name showed The Byrds how to become "rock stars".

(Edit: Don't take that as a negative thing, I like the album, but it is not the best. I don't consider it in the Top 5 Beatles albums, either.)

I find a lot of people agree. Everything before Rubber Soul (Or Help! if you want to be generous) wasn't that great. It wasn't that bad either, but not as shit hot as their later stuff.

Beatles before drugs = generic rock/pop of the day
Beatles after drugs = phenominal and legendary

I think there's a lot to be said for a band that can make a good, straightforeward pop record.
I'd not repeat any of those things in front of my mother or anything though...
