The Indier-Than-Thou topic
« on: 22 Dec 2007, 07:54 »

This could qualify as a game topic.

The only rule is thus - express your indieness to the above poster in a way that dwarfs theirs. It doesn't matter if it's made-up or true, the point is to be as elitist, silly, witty or whatever as possible.

e.g "I'm so Indie that I shit Radiohead demos"

to which another person replies

"Yeah? Tough dice, motherfucker, I'm so indie that I piss the tears of Matt Bellamy"

ect.ect.ect

I'll begin.

I'm so Indie that a South African Black Metal band added me on MySpace without a single prompt.

Pffft. I don't even like music anymore. All these bands are so fucking overrated. For entertainment, I just sit around and listen to my fish swim in their bowl. It's way better than The Arcade Fire.

Dude fuck that I just sit around and listen to the silence of human potential that will never be realized. That's the only place left with a decent scene.

I've just decided that listening is not stylish anymore. I'm going to have my ears removed.

I'll probably have to duct tape my glasses to my face, but it'll be worth it.

I've decided 1996 was a very indie year, Julia.

In fact, when I get home, I'm going to throw my reissue copy of Pinkerton on my non-working turntable and wonder. Wonder about everything. And then eat pizza.

I am so indie that I'm completely and utterly not indie, which turns around and makes me indie, however this causes me to be non-indie, and so on. This paradox created a rip through the time-space continuum. It's pretty cool, I traveled back through time and discoed with Hitler.

I stabbed The Edge with a straight razor once. A piece of the blade stuck and would cut people whenever he tried to shake their hands. That's how he got that ridiculous nickname.

Bono, on the other hand, got his name from a shitty '60s pop star-turned-Congressman who really, REALLY liked to hug trees.
