Well Drizzt is featured in several other books isn't he? Namely, the ones I've read about the Crystal Shard.

Yeah, he's in something like 13 or 14 books.  Only the early ones were about the Crystal Shard though.  I'm pretty sure they destroyed it in Streams of Silver, or one of the ones in that series.  I haven't read those in a long time.  The rest of them are about kicking the crap out of more drow and orcs and whatnot.  Fun times.

edward norton once came into a grocery store in markham while i was shopping. i freaked out and hid from him and spent the next ten minutes convincing myself that it wasn't edward norton at all but just some guy who looked uncannily like him. later i found out that by some bizarre seven-degrees-of-separation logic, edward norton actually is (or was) in a relationship with my sister's friend's yoga instructor's daughter. so i guess it probably was him. shit i don't want to derail this thread continue talking about gifts guys.

That Homestarrunner shirt I bought for my brother actually has not arrived yet. I am pretty pissed off about this as I ordered it in November.

While I've never met a celebrity, I did get to see Christopher Walken a few weeks ago from about eighty yards off. He was shooting a movie at Boston Common.

Also, considering Christmas is over and we've all posted our hauls already, I vote that this be derailed to a celebrity anecdotes/Christopher Walken tribute thread.

Christopher Walken sure does rock, guys.

I was thinking more along the lines of Dan's decided he's sick of being himself and has instead opted to become late 80's era Michael Jackson.

Hey, that's not so bad. I'm still regretting my purchase of that original purple pleather suit that Eddie Murphy wore in one of his specials, jeez that thing is tight.

Plus I think Michael Jackson wasn't considered white until the 90s

I went gift-returning and shopping today. I took back a food chopper that I got because I already had one, a book I got for the same reason, and the present I was going to get my mom until the last minute. With the money I got back I got...

These boots:

This shirt, which honestly looks better on me:

And this tank:

Also Michael Crichton's 'Eaters of the Dead' and Neil Gaiman's 'Anasazi Boys' and 'Stardust' at a used book store. And I have money left over!

I forgot to post my actual haul.

New laptop to replace my old rickety one
Terry Pratchett's Going Postal and The Light Fantastic (Not sure which one I should start with, never read a Pratchett novel before)
The Twin Peaks box set
Rock Band
A garlic press
and the Onion Atlas, which is hilarious but also very, very dark.

Here's the watch I got for Christmas which was way too pink for me.

Sadly, I can't find a picture of the one I exchanged it for.  It's silver with an irridescent faceplate... and smaller.  Much more tolerable.

The Legend of Drizzt Box Set I-III ([/nerd])

Which one is that?  Is that the one that's about his roots, where he escapes from the Underdark?  I thought it was a good series.
Really? I found it painful, yet imminently readable, probably due to the fact that I was itching for D&D something fierce and had no access to other players or games. Something about the way R.A. Salvatore writes just rubs me the wrong way. I'm looking for a good FR book to read.

it is a book of sheet music! ...unless you meant a zip of pdf files? or me playing all of them? maybe you were joking, but either way i probably can't!

I gotta say, you can play Debussy damn well and I would definitely enjoy a recording of you+Chopin if you ever had the time/motivation to do so.

Elaine Cunningham's Daughter of the Drow series isn't bad.  Worth a gander anyway.

You get gifts for Hanukkah? The one where we're supposed to light the candles and all? Really?

Huh.

The holiday has been completely bastardized in America by Jews who feel bad for themselves when the rest of the country gets gifts. Aka, ME.

The only thing I wanted and I didn't have was the Tomlab Alphabet Series X by Final Fantasy but it was sold out

Anyway in case anyone cares.
I got a really cool "Vintage" toolbox, Pirates OTC Worlds End DVD, Harry Potter Order of Pheonix DVD, The Sound of Music 2 Disc Special Edition DVD. Some new flashlights and oh yeah by the way my wife tells me shes preggers. Well at least that explains why she barfs only in the morning.

Uuumm...aaanyway...
My major haul included:

Guitar Hero III (which I don't really "suck" at, but I am only playing it on easy at the moment...)
"The Rocket" food processor (knock off Magic Bullet)
The Harry Potter stamps from the UK
The 20th Edition Princess Bride DVD/abridged novel
I Am America And So Can You by Stephen Colbert
Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix Special Edition DVD w/ the Bookmarks
A FLY Pen

And a bunch of other things that I do not recall at the moment... Sadly, I did not get any money, except for a $25 dollar gift certificate which I spent, buying PotC3 as my Mother lied to me and didn't get it for me... Rude.

I received some cash (yay rent money) and Starbucks gift cards (yay latte money), a friend of mine sells Silpada jewelry so she gave me a necklace that I was coveting as well as the Rob Zombie version of Halloween on DVD, and a very thoughtful friend sent me three Tom Robbins books because I had mentioned that I was wanting to read Still Life with Woodpecker.
